A good point made by a friend: Fran suffered through every rain delay that Ai did. How is it that only Ai got screwed? Ai could have finished the match on Tuesday but couldn't hold her serve.

It was always going to depend on who came out with their head working after the break. Fran came out better at 4-5 in the second but was missing at the start of the third - she probably would have broken back anyway (30-40 has often meant game point Francesca this USO) but she must have eaten some really good pasta in the break. Francesca went hunting and out angled and out attacked ai who was having trouble keeping up. Francesca's first serve was awol except when she needed it at 3-2. If she could serve like that even half the time her matches wouldn't take 4 days to win. Fran looked a very happy bunny.
Most people seem to be forgetting that Francesca was down 5-2 in the 2nd set last night and then had all the momentum on her side getting it to 5-4 before the rain started. So really Ai didn't get screwed, Francesca kept her focus and beat her. Go Fran! Win the tourney

The only one who is to blame for Ai's loss is Ai. On tuesday she was serving for it at 5-3 in the 2nd, then she put 3 easy forehands into the net to go down 0-40.
She could have finished it up then but she failed to so. No excuses.

I like Ai aswell, but I'm really pleased Francesca won, great comeback from 2/5 and a set down! I'm really happy for her! :clap2: What did Francesca say in her interview Hurley?
Are they really going to make her wait around until late at night to play Jennifer today?
