My picks:

Petrova def Henin(could go either way)
Likhotseva def Kuznetsova(those fickle Russians, will they show up?)
Davenport def Rubin(bad toe could be a factor)
Clijsters def Raymond(net game can be effective against Clijsters)

hmm, Justine is well prepared to the Petrova-match. She plays hard and flat and has a hard flat serve. Same as Dementieva but a higher level :yeah:
Justine will play the final versus Kim or Lindsay :woohoo:

I was thinking along this line, without the scores. However, I believe this is in reminiscence of former Davenport.

If I were Justine I would be concerned..she came pretty close to losing to a big groundstroker with not much of a serve...now she's playing a big groundstroker with a big serve.
It's not just that, but on hardcourts Nadya is better ( than Henin ) in every department - serve, forehand, backhand. Except for volley, perhaps, and footspeed.

It's a new Justine out there. A Slam and a couple of big wins do that to you. She's finding inner strengths she didn't even know she had.

Volcana automatically assumed Clijsters HAD to have the cakewalk draw, and assumed Davenport/Rubin was in Henins side.

Well in the beginning the half of Justine looked heavier with Serena and Jennifer in it but they withdrew so it a bit easier now on that side ;)

As long as Dementieva had legs to run yesterday, Justine had no say in the match and was completely outplayed. It's not my opinion. It's Justine's. Read her interview. Petrova is every bit as good as Dementieva, except that now she will have an advantage of fresher legs, because she had a cakewlk match yesterday, and she has no problem ( unlike Dementieva ) with jetlag consequences, because she is already more than two on West Coast.

Then why is Justine leading the head-to-head 2-0, and why doesn't Nadia win slams or beat Clijsters, Davenport, the Williams sisters etc.?

Because she had an year-long injury, after which she was ranked in the second hundred, and every player in that situation would have to fight for every bit of confidence, that lacks really badly. But it is coming together.

why does everyone think Linds will beat Kim? Anything I missed? Davenport will have to bring her A+ game than brought her to slam titles to beat Kim IHMO
