There are 3 players left committed to this draw, but only one qualifying place. The 3 lowest ranked players are Suchachan Viratprasert, Jennifer Capriati and Ai Sugiyama. I will send you all a pm, but any of you can change to Glasgow, or if just one of you change to Glasgow, the other two can play a qualifying match for Amsterdam

Sharapova arrives in Amsterdam

Maria Sharapova signing autographs for the fans in the ABN AMRO fans area

"Im finally here, I arrived yesterday. I took a week off after my loss in the French Open for the singles. I made it to the semifinals of the doubles, so it wasn`t soo much of a waste of my time, so atleast I got some enjoyment out of it"

"I havent been training yet, I might do a light training session this afternoon before i play tomorrow, but im enjoying the rest :p. Hopefully I can have a successful week both in the singles and doubles this week, my good weeks have been few and far between and its hard on a player like me who has what it takes to do soo well."

"The fans are always great, i really thank them for there great support. I do think the tour directors have some little problems with me ;) They thought that I didn`t commit to the grass season tournaments, {grin}. Anything to pick on me I guess "

Sabatini reacts on Sharapova`s remarks on her own training...

On Sharapova
"I think Sharapova is pretty much like a tourist, you can see her the way she talks about her game and training and she does not seems focused, i could see that better last week in Buenos Aires, she is like tourist moving from one city to another."

An advice to Sharapova
"she can better dedicate herself to be a model or something, she seems to enjoy been the center of the attention, but certainly her tennis is not even close to that :p".

On the tournament
"Well the first time i am the topseeded in a event like this, i was the top seeded last week as well but it was the national championships, i don´t think i played badly, but you know i won 2 matches and lost it on the number of sets diference, but overall i was very happy, i come here with good expectations, i hope to win this event, but who knows all matches are pretty tough, and i hope to be in the best form as possible"
