Most important is that she can stay healthy now for longer, she needs matches and some rhythm again!
Curious to see how her schedule will look like once there are no PRs left, in ideal case she will have a deep run at a WTA tournament immediately but we can´t expect that, so she probably will need to add ITFs to her schedule soon also..

It's a weird part of the season to have to start a comebackk. Germany, Taiwan, Hungary, Mexico...That's a lot of travels already.

Last season she entered tournaments in Taiwan twice and had to withdraw both times, so there's a nice symbolism to starting here, no matter what happens.

Obviously impossible to know exactly how she'll be let alone how she'll do this week (like, there will be a degree of rust, but what degree?), but, yes, that's really not the main thing right now. Fingers crossed/wood touched all the same... :)

Great fight! :yeah:
Really nice to start a comeback with a win and this should really give her some confidence as well!
Important also that she was able to take advantage of the draw here, 30 pts are really good for her these days..

Even more important now is that she stays healthy and that she is able to get back to her normal level, step by step, Hibino next!

It's so nice to have Sabs back. :inlove:

She really is one of my favorite not-grumpy-Swedish players.

Although the huge struggle she had against someone ranked 362, I’m really happy with her win today! Lots need to be improved, but it’s only her first match since her injury. Most importantly she never gave up and fought an amazing fight! So proud of her for that.

Tomorrow she’ll play against Hibino. Fingers crossed!

Her attitude wasn't so much encouraging as outright heartening :). What's interesting is that though her level was very topsy-turvy (as it was always going to be), even during the rougher patches of the match she was still trying hard and was still managing to put some pressure on Zhang and to create chances, which explains why the match took the course it did once things clicked together and she was able to capitalise on that pressure and those chances.

Anyway, once again she's on fourth, so in the morning in Europe but not super early or anything. If she can play mostly at the level of the better parts of this match (fingers, toes, limbs, all crossed...) she's got a good chance of winning, if not, well, it's another match, it's more time on court and that in itself is good right now.

Won 6-4, 6-1 :)

Had a rough start, steadily got herself together (saving an absurd number of break points), and then started dominating. Aces on important points more than a few times, which is always nice :)

Two wins in a row at a comeback tournament.

Nice surprise.

Now Niculescu, can't see her winning this.

Sabine! :yeah:
Really nice to see her winning again, positive surprise to see her in the QFs here, good stuff today also, promising sign for the upcoming tournaments (if she stays healthy!!)

Niculescu next, they played several times before and it´s tough to predict the winner in this match, it could become ugly if Sabine turns into an UE machine and if her serve does not work but on a good day Sabine is surely the better player but she already achieved more than I expected anyway, good luck!!

Really nice performance and win :yeah: Shaky start, but after 2-4 *0-40 down it was total annihilation. Another QF after a comeback :cheer:

Niculescu next though  That woman has traumatized me too many times :hysteric: Hopefully not again this Friday...
