Surface: Hard (outdoors)

Zone B
Dates: 18-21 July 2018
Venue: Centro National de Tenis de la FET, Guayaquil, Ecuador
Surface: Clay (outdoors)

Format

Zone A - Barbados, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay

Zone B - Bahamas, Bermuda, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Trinidad & Tobago

Round-robin basis.

Six teams will compete in Metepec on 18-23 June 2018. The winners of each pool will play-off to determine which nation from Metepec will advance to Americas Zone Group I in 2019.

Seven other teams will compete in Guayaquil on 18-21 July 2018. The winners of each pool will play-off to determine which nation from Guayaquil will advance to Americas Zone Group I in 2019.

It's still unclear what happens to Mexico. Zacarias was part of every tie and she tested positive for doping here.
:eek:

It would be unfair to punish the whole team for Zacarias' mistake.

On the other hand it must be said that Zacarias and her wins were pivotal for the promotion.
Zacarias won important live rubbers in every tie for Mexico. And doping should be punished.
