[The above is a "fake" news story. As Arsenic notes: "Pretty sure there were a few early round international matches where the ballkids outnumbered the paying guests... but I think that article was an attempt at satire."

This is a good thread! Those IW numbers are amazing!
IW 440,000
Miami 300,000
Charleston 92,000
How about Stuttgart and Beijing?
2017 IW -

Once again a good attendance at the Indian Wells event in the two weeks of the tournament among qualies and main draw matches. 439.261 people attended the event, a slightly higher number than 2016 (438.058).

Looks like the attendance is dropping.
You cant expect every tournament to be at their peak every year.
IW is amazing, try getting 440,000 for a non-major
Miami is doing well.
We need more data

Stuttgart - Porsche Grand Prix

2015 - 37.xxx (found a article saying "more then 37.000 ....")
2016 - 39.xxx (found a article saying "more then 39.000 - a new record")
2017 - 39.000

Turnier in Stichworten - Das Turnier - Porsche Tennis Grand Prix - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG

and then i found a article saying
http://www.porsche-tennis.de/prod/pag/tennis.nsf/web/german-archive_pressreleases_T13_0519_de

2012 - 40.950
2013 - 42.212

so how can 39.000 in 2016 be a new Record ?

seems like 2013 they included the Fedcup Tickets who was played at the same time as the Qualifying
maybe they did that in 2012 as well :rolls:
