Does (Rankings Only) mean those schools are not planning on sending anyone to WAATC?
PQ draws are posted and they're a bit of a mess - I guess there were a lot of last minute withdrawals?

Singles: http://www.itatennis.com/Assets/2012+Riviera-ITA+PQ+Singles+Draw.pdf

Doubles: http://www.itatennis.com/Assets/2012+Riviera-ITA+PQ+Doubles+Draw.pdf

Will be interested to see how the freshmen do. Collins and Nauta could meet in R2.

[8] Parajova (TCU) vs Collins (UF)
Jones (OM) vs Nauta (UVA)
[4] Van Nguyen (UCLA) vs Borthwick (FSU)
Skowronski (ORE) vs Elbaba (UVA)

blue is the latest change :hysteric:
Make that purple as the doubles draw has now been filled in with locals

Did the ITA hire interns to make these draws? :help:
Looks like they are doing a pretty good job posting the PQ scores on Twitter this year: https://twitter.com/PreQualies2012

No freshman even lost a set in the first 2 rounds of PQ singles, except Nauta losing to fellow frosh Collins in R2. :worship:

Looks like Collins, Borthwick, Elbaba, McPhillips were totally dominant. Really nice win for McPhillips especially taking out Kilborn, considering Liz picked up a couple of top 30 wins last weekend.
UF, UVA and Yale  advanced 2 to the final round of PQs. All seeds were eliminated except #16 Stephens from Ole Miss.

Tomorrows matches:
Shine (LVL) vs Seideman (YALE)
Collins (UF) vs Begley (TEX)
Borthwick (FLA ST) vs DeSimone (USC)
McPhillips (UCLA) vs Peretz (UVA)
[16] Stephens (OM) vs Burgic (BAY)
Yu (YALE) vs Craig (UTAH)
Seaborne (IOWA) vs Janowicz (UF)
Elbaba (UVA) vs Nichols (TCU)

Guessing all of the freshmen will advance. The other 4 matches may be more interesting. Seaborne with the shot to beat both Cercone and Janowicz in the preseason. It's like she still plays for FSU

Janowicz and Collins both advanced with wins today
Yale also won both and DeSimone "upset" freshman Borthwick...I'm starting to think USC might be my preseason #1.

Elbaba continues to look scary good; she's lost only 4 games total in 3 matches here to go along with her domination of the UVA Invite.

I wonder when the Q draws will be out?
Katie Le will be a real test for Julia, because yesterday;

Gold ITA Singles -- Semifinals

CAL Zsofi Susanyi[1] d. SC Katie Le[4] 6-2;5-7;6-3
Agree. Le-Elbaba is the first round I am most curious about. Kind of a shame because both probably deserve to qualify based on what they've shown so far this fall.

Does anyone know if there will be any live updates from Riviera? I guess the Twitter was only for PQs?
Trice is here, so I think she plays.
MD is posted: http://www.itatennis.com/Events/ITANationalChampionships/WomensAllAmerican.htm

Trice is OUT of Singles, but is playing Doubles with Mar. CSQ is thus the #1 seed.

(3)Embree vs Cako is probably the highlight of round 1.

Of course the draw also features: Zoe Scandalis (4) Florida
Looks like Elbaba drew CSQ. That should be interesting.
Radio Tennis is covering now, so we can at least get live updates from one court.

Of course, they would cover the most boring match, Embree-Januskova. Embree won the 1st 6-0
Elbaba def. Collins 1-6, 6-4, 6-4

Great freshman battle :worship:

QFs today also, in progress now:

[Q] Elbaba vs Niedermayerova
[4] Scandalis vs [Q] Hardebeck
[3] Embree vs Boren
[8] Lao vs [Q] Kowase

Lao-Kowase on RT now. Sounds like Lao won the 1st set and its 2-2 in the 2nd.

Great final, but Embree is so clutch! It's really starting to get ridiculous...4 straight games from 2-4 in the 3rd.
