Here are my predictions. I hope to hear yours.

1. Justine Henin-Hardenne
2. Kim Clijsters
3. Lindsay Davenport
4. Serena Williams
5. Venus Williams
6. Jennifer Capriati
7. Amelie Mauresmo
8. Anastasia Myskina
9. Chanda Rubin
10. Ai Sugiyama

Just as a note, I think the #1 and #2 rankings can go any way. JHH has a great chance of winning the open, and in recent head-to-heads vs. Kim has dominated. Also, if Kim can't win the Year End Champs, she'll lose tons of points. The 6-8 week "projected recovery time" for Serena's knee will, in my opinion, be longer. She'll throw a boat load of points at the open. If Lindsay's foot holds up (big IF) then she could win New Haven, get darn far at the open, and go to her best surface, Carpet. She'll pick up tuns of points there. Because she did poorly at the Year End Champs last year, it would be a "free" opportunity for her to gain points. Venus will do ok the rest of the year if her stomach hold up. I don't know about her and the open, but she is pretty far ahead of the people behind her. Jen will finsih out the year pretty well, hopefully do well at the open. Amelie will do ok after coming back. Myskina is looking pretty good. Chanda will ride out the year. Truely, I don't know who will be #10. Ai's game looks pretty good, but I really think it's up for grabs. I think the ongoing downward spiral of Daniela will continue...

I think it will be more like this:

1. Clijsters
2. Henin-Hardenne
3. Davenport
4. S. Williams
5. Capriati
6. V. Williams
7. Mauresmo
8. Myskina
9. Rubin
10. Sugiyama/Hantuchova

I think Venus will fall down the rankings because I don't know how long she's out for, I mean she might not play the Open so we'll see!

Venus will be playing the open.
Her agent has said she's serving w/o pain
and is looking to compete in the USO.

Their's no way Capriati will be moving ahead of Venus.

I dont know if yall forgot but Lindsay is having surgery after the open

so

1. Justine Henin-Hardenne
2. Kim Clijsters

3. Venus Williams
4. Serena Williams

5. Amelie Mauresmo
6. Jennifer Capriati
7. Anastasia Myskina
8. Vera Zvonareva
9. Chanda Rubin
10. Lindsay Davenport

My rational is that Venus should be able to pass Serena by the time Rena comes back, and Rena has alot of points to defend this fall, while V doesn't have any till the champs.

Clijsters has mega points to defend while Justine doesn't, and Justine has more confidence right now.

Lindsay said she's having surgery after the open or before the champs

I think she'd rather miss the champs than miss the Australian, don't you?

Why does anyone think that Davenport will overtake Serena in the rankings?? Serena will still have close to 5000 points with the US Open points off, while Davenport will have about 3200 with her US Open points off. Serena would have to miss the WTA champs, and even then Lindsay may not pass her.

How has Justine dominated recently? Kim had match points in Germany, was in the grass match, and won the first set a few weeks ago. Only the French final was a "domination." I would call the -h-2-h a domination if this had been for years, but Kim has 2 legitimate wins over Justine this year alone.
