Here are my predictions. I hope to hear yours.
1. Justine Henin-Hardenne
2. Kim Clijsters
3. Lindsay Davenport
4. Serena Williams
5. Venus Williams
6. Jennifer Capriati
7. Amelie Mauresmo
8. Anastasia Myskina
9. Chanda Rubin
10. Ai Sugiyama
Just as a note, I think the #1 and #2 rankings can go any way. JHH has a great chance of winning the open, and in recent head-to-heads vs. Kim has dominated. Also, if Kim can't win the Year End Champs, she'll lose tons of points. The 6-8 week "projected recovery time" for Serena's knee will, in my opinion, be longer. She'll throw a boat load of points at the open. If Lindsay's foot holds up (big IF) then she could win New Haven, get darn far at the open, and go to her best surface, Carpet. She'll pick up tuns of points there. Because she did poorly at the Year End Champs last year, it would be a "free" opportunity for her to gain points. Venus will do ok the rest of the year if her stomach hold up. I don't know about her and the open, but she is pretty far ahead of the people behind her. Jen will finsih out the year pretty well, hopefully do well at the open. Amelie will do ok after coming back. Myskina is looking pretty good. Chanda will ride out the year. Truely, I don't know who will be #10. Ai's game looks pretty good, but I really think it's up for grabs. I think the ongoing downward spiral of Daniela will continue...
