On the Sanex WTA board I ran a game called "The Race to the Chase". The idea was to predict winners for every event. Since the WTA board is dead(and unreliable as hell even when alive) I was thinkinhg about trying it here if there is interest.

The "Race" is relatively simple. Contestants pick one seed and one non-seed each week. Points are earned if your pick wins the whole event, building up to a climax at next year's Munich finale!

The question is, anyone interested in playing?

Ok then-I'm glad to have such a good response., so it's a go!
The rules are simple. For each WTA event you get two picks. One pick is a seed #1-#8, the second pick is unseeded or lower than 8.

Last year there were points for event winners only. This year I was thinking maybe there could be points for winners and runnersup. Let me know which you like better.

The other idea is to start a thread on the favorite "nonseed" of the week. This way we can learn more about the unknowns of the tour.

Only 2 weeks more and the race is on!

Glad to see all the feedback(and those who were in the chase before)! I'll try and check out those other games

BTW, does anyone have the websites for the first events of 2002? They are the Gold Coast, Auckland, and the Hopman Cup. All worth 2 points for winners, 1 for finalists

What I've done in the past is take votes up to and including the first day, because sometimes there are late withdrawals. The other thing I'll
do is take picks for future events, in case you are going away for a weekend, etc. Just send me a private message.

I'll take as many as want to play thefreedsigner

What's your game Brian? You can always give me picks in advance from commitment lists. It should be a close race. Arn, ASV, and TennisAce were all leaders around the US Open time, when the Sanex board died. Glad to Matthias and Franziska are playing again too!
