Belgrade,Yugoslavia- Again Steffi Graf and Kim Clijsters withdraw. They have not played at all this season so they will miss next week's tournament. Too bad!
In other action today Iroda Tulyaganova and Jelena Dokic made the quarter finals here! These two have already proven themselves and want to continue the journey! The new comer and qualifier Maria Kirilenko put up a humongous fight against Jelena today! Excpect great things from this kid! Today was a good day for tennis!
Tomorrow the Bottom Half of Singles will play! Gonna be a ton of good matches waiting for us! See you tomorrow.

Hey Steven I have an idea. When a player doesn't send in points, for example Graf. Instead of having "withdrawl" or "w/o", why not make up a match score? Like 6-2 6-3, or 4-6 6-4 7-5? You can put an asterik * next to the matches where the opponent sent no points, but have a score ot make it seem competitive.

The only seed today to walk out was again Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia. The opponent to beat her was the spaniard Ainhoa Goni! An impressive performance by Ainhoa in straigh sets!
The other seed was Magdalena Grzybowska. She moved on in striaght sets also!
The unseeded matches were definently exciting, both took 3 sets to complete. Angeles Montolio and Kimiko Date prevailed to move on into the quarter finals! Great day today for tennis!

Belgrade,Yugoslavia- Friday was the biggest of all days here in Yugoslavia. Record crowds came in to watch the BIG matches! Especially for crowd favorite Jelena Dokic who made her fans happy pulling off an upset again Gabriela Sabatini in 3 great sets!
Next the doubles match produced some big fast point tennis which was the best to watch ad Hantuchova and Smashnova came through! Ainhoa Goni keeps surprising people as she moves on into the semi finals after beating Japanese Kimiko Date. Last week's champion Martina Hingis came gunning for another title against iroda tulyaganova of uzbekistan who has impressed a bunch of people!
Magdalena Grzybowska came out with Angeles Montolio in the first ever WGTA night match! Maggie was right that she loved the night and showed it on the court by demolishing Montolio in straight sets! Some great tennis produced by everyone! KEEP IT UP!
