2002 looks to be an exciting year ahead.
Such a pity she is avoiding the European events though.
I fully understand her decision to skip any German events, bit there are quite a few other tounament possibilities at her disposal - rather than Tier 3 and 4 events in Asia.
Such a pity also that she has so many points to defend later this month from her RUP finish at the Chase last year. This will see her ranking slip to 10 or 11.
I expect big things for Monica in the next 6 months . With her ranking around the TOP 10 and few points to defend she has a great chance of getting back inside the Top 3 by mid next year. Capriati, Henin, Clijsters, Venus and Hingis have a lot of points to defend in coming months, so I can see lots of movement amongst the top 10.
