Eisterlehner was mentioned also in the related article as the winner of the tournament in singles in the german tennis magazine. Of course there can be also mistakes in it too.

Anybody a third source?
Eisterlehner won the event in Madrid, so those results posted by Chaton are correct. Metcalf won another tournament, played in Barcelona a week later (Trofeo Conde de Godó). Unfortunately Jimbo's honour roll is full of mistakes, for example according to "1974 thread" Zwaan was not the winner, but the runner-up in 1974.

This report in El Mundo Deportivo of 12 October 1975 might explain the confusion. In the overview of the tournament results (Resultados) it shows that Janice Metcalf won the singles title by defeating Heidi Eisterlehner in the final 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. However if my understanding of Spanish is correct the article itself mentions that Eisterlehner won the final in three sets ("En esta última triunfó le alemana Haidy Eisterlenher, una bella valquiria de 25 años, número cuatro de su país y que se ha impuesto a Metcalf en - tres sets.").

Metcalf did indeed win the Trofeo Conde de Godó in Barcelona a week later.

SF: Iris Riedel d Daniela Porzio Marzano 1-6 6-4 10-8

Per the NYT this =the Spanish open. AKA the Barcelona International and the Trodeo de Conde Godo (Count of Godo Trophy). The prize money of $75,000 is primarily for the men.
