Wow, amazing that Lesley Turner beat Sue Barker in the Perth QFs on grass this season! And she took the doubles title.
And great to see Durr with another win over Navratilova in Tokyo. She certainly did give Martina fits in a number of their clashes.

The final was FI: Court/Wade [4] d. Casals/King [1] 6-7 (2-5) 7-6 (5-2) 6-2.

This was big event-the equivalent of the Virginia Slims Championships finale for doubles.
Wow, astonishing semis and finals of this tournament. Gee, Court/Wade and King/Casals had a lot of epic matches when they met! Wouldn't it be great to have seen those. :)

Are you going to reformat all of the results submitted by Miguel in his thread for the year 1975, or just those up to the Wimbledon Plate?
They will all be reformatted. I will also add in more doubles results, Fed Cup, and World Team Tennis.

I added a raft of new results from an early round of the South Africna Open.

Note: John McEnroe's first ever Slam win! He played Doubles here too, and reached the Second Round but had a walkover.
Althea Gibson's final ever participation.
Was amazed at the quality of the women's doubles draw this year. Nearly every entrant team had a player/team who had or went on to have outstanding results. The QF pairings were amazing, and former Aus and Wimbledon dubs champs Goolgaong and Michel got knocked out in 2R. A semi pairing of Casals/King v Evert/Navratilova and Durr/Stove v Court/Wade, and of course the amazing final. Nearly every top 10 player was in doubles. And Maria Bueno plays with teenager Marsikova.

The mixed draw was intriguing too. Didn't realize McEnroe played that year, with British player living in NY Lindsey Beaven - probably knew her from his Port Washington days. And Margaret Court can claim a win over him! And I wonder what happened in the QF between Court/Riessen and Bueno/Nastase, ending with a default at 4-4 in the 3rd. Would have loved to have seen that match.
Even though Martina didn't play mixed, still amazing that the 1975 US Open featured Althea Gibson, who won her first major in 1956, and Martina Navratilova who won her last major in 2006. A fifty year difference!
