~~Danielle Mills~~ CHEERING THREAD!!
Danielle Mills is an American player. She actually goes out of the States to do what she loves.

She has a Become a member...She is really sweet...

Danielle Mills was born in Rochester NY March 28th 1991. She started playing tennis when she was 3 years old. She tried out other sports like, soccer, soft ball, basketball, swimming, and gymnastics, but never made the connection like she did with tennis. After playing in NY and getting the the top of the rankings there in the 12's, she decided in order to continue her dreams of being a pro tennis player she was going to have to be in a better tennis location. She moved to bradenton florida which is home of IMG Nick Bolliettieri tennis acadamey with aspirations of becoming a professional tennis player when she was 11 years old. After 7 long years of hard work and dedication and from USTA to ITF, to the Junior Slams to now professional, she is now currently 590 on the WTA tour (ranking subeject to change). When not playing tennis Danielle loves to shop, and has a profound love for learning new languages. She speaks 3 languages, spanish, english, and portuguese. She loves to travel the world, see different cultures, and interact with all types of people. Look out for her in the near future. Feel free to leave her any questions or comments in Forums.

Yep. And with all her traveling in spite of her low ranking, something tells me that Mommy and Daddy have some serious $$.

Good luck to her though. :)

Re: Danielle Mills
Here is MY Q and A with Danielle

TB12: Why did you start playing tennis?
DM: I started playing tennis because my parents would always be playing at this tennis club in new york, and i was 3 and instead of being put in a day care i was put into a tiny tots tennis program for kids 4 and over

TB12: Neat! At what point did you realize that tennis was it.."I want to go pro (or college)"
DM: I actually always thought I was going to go to college for acedemics when I was young. I thought I was going to be a pro tennis player as well. When I was in elementary school i thought you could do both at the same time.

TB12: Moving to Florida from New York and training with the top players in the world is a tough transition. How were you able to take it.
DM: I was very nervous when I went from New York to Florida. I was 11 years old. I was coming from being at the top of the competition in New York to being at almost the bottom group of level in Florida. It wasn't until I got a national ranking and starting winning nationally that I was moved into the group for my level and treated with more respect.

TB12: You stopped playing USTA events early and went straight to the ITF Jr Circuit and the Pro Circuit at around 14, most Americans use the USTA jr and pro events to rise. Why is that?
DM: I stopped playing the USTA tournaments because at my tennis academey IMG Bolliettieri all the top people there cared about was an ITF ranking. They only thought you were doing good if you were beating people from all over the world, and competing in international events. It wasnt till later in the years at img that they cared about having a good USTA ranking. I started playing Pro events as soon as I turned 14 to get a jumpstart on my ranking and get alot of expierience against older and better girls.

TB12: What is the daily schedule of Danielle Mills?
DM: I wake up at 6 am and drive to IMG. I get there at 7:30 and I warm up and jog a bit in the gym. I begin my practice at 8 am with my coach Ales Kodat. We play 2 hours in the morning doing technical work and drills. I go to fitness at 10am till 11. I eat lunch from 11:30 - 12:30 At 2pm I either have a practice match against a guy, or I have another practice with my coach. I finish around 4pm and I stretch and relax.

TB12: Who are your best friends on the circuit?
DM: I would have to say my best friends on the tour would be Madison Brengle and Anastasia Pivovarova.

TB12: What has been your best win and toughest loss in your career?
DM: My best win was again Kelly Liggan (who at the time was in the 200s) to go into the quarter finals of a $25,000. My toughest loss ummmmm Im going to have to say when I lost to Alexandra Moreno in the first round of a WTA qualifying. Its my toughest because i had beaten her 3 times before and It would have been my first WTA win of my career. I lost 76 67 67.

TB12: How far do you have your schedule and what colleges are you looking at since you are still an ameatur?
DM: My top three choices are University of Miami, University of North Carolina, and University of Southern California.
