i'm not the one you need to talk to.

And out goes Wang Xiyu.

So I guess the takeaway is, ITF results don't really have much of an indication of future success. Rus, Osuigwe, and Xiyu prove that.

Now to see how a top-50 player who conducts her career like an ITF player handles 'Dangerous LOOMING' status.

ostapenko can peak like 2017 out of nowhere and other girls will just watch those missiles coming at them. I will never count her out

Don't worry. An objective report will be coming out shortly.

Same. Ostapenko unseeded, unpressured, and with no expectations could make a run. I am just very curious who gets to land her as their 1st round opponent. She just landed in Paris yesterday afternoon and looks 100% healthy.

I can't believe the OP forgot Ostapenko. She should have been included in Walking Byes, she barely wins matches, felt R1 last time and can't even serve for god's sake.
Ostapenko is a dangerous walking bye. She'll take out the no.1 seed in the first round then lose to a WC in the 2nd..

Poor Woz. I wouldn't exactly call her a walking bye, but among the seeds, let's just say that most players are going to be hoping and praying to land in her section.

Danger Saisai now with a 3-3 tour level record on clay this year. No doubt saving herself for RG.

I'm curious why Rus, with her 15-2 record on clay coming into qualifying, didn't make the list when, for example, 10-2 Wang Xiyu and 8-2 Zheng Saisai made the list.

Or for that matter Whitney Osuigwe, who is on a 12-2 run on clay, and is even a seed in qualifying, as opposed to Wang Xiyu.

Seems an inconsistent method for selecting the list members
This post aged well, what with Rus losing 1 and 4 to Zhuk of all players in QR1.

Happens to the best of us.
