Vika's forthcoming schedule as we know so far:

The 2019 Wimbledon Championships (July 1 - July 14, 2019)

Orange Country Breakers (July 20, 2019)

Azarenka, a former world No. 1 and two time Grand Slam singles champion, will make her Breakers debut on July 20 in Orange County.

Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, San Jose (July 29 - August 4, 2019)
2019 Player Field Announced | Press Releases - News | | Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic
Of the 20 players on the acceptance list, 15 have won at least one career WTA singles title including Grand Slam winners Garbiñe Muguruza, Victoria Azarenka and Jelena Ostapenko. Six of the women in this year’s player field have already won singles titles in 2019. Overall, the list of players has combined to win 66 career WTA singles titles. The event returns for its second year at San José State University and will take place July 29 - August 4, 2019.

Re: Too soon? Predict Vika's comeback schedule!

I'm bumping this thread because it makes more sense to have one about future tournaments instead of letting them get lost in the main cheering thread. She is on the entry list for San Jose, which looks very weak this year (barring any late entries, and Sharapova missed the cut but I assume is in qualies and will be getting a wildcard if needed if she's healthy since she normally plays that event). It could be a good opportunity for Vika, but she is also very unlikely to be seeded and has quarterfinal points to defend .

The way she looks in these Christmas pics I think she could easily be physically ready for Indian Wells. Obviously parenthood is a little different than an injury . Just because you are physical capable to resume training/playing doesn´t mean you are mentally ready.

Too soon? Predict Vika's comeback schedule!

While obviously everyone's excited for the new addition to Vika's family, it's never too soon to talk about her return to tennis. Work driving me a bit crazy, so I've taking a break and contemplating the best come back strategy for our girl.

She's got to play her first tournament within one year of giving birth, which is a bit awkward as it happened during the offseason.

Prediction 1:
First tournament back is Stanford (close to home!). Plays:
Stanford
Cincy
USO
Wuhan
Beijing

This would leave open option for SR to be used at AO, IW or Miami if needed (and WCs into an AO warmup and a RG warmup tho hopefully these would not be needed!). Would also give her benefit of getting back to playing but then having off season for some rest. Maximizes opportunities to earn points on her best surface.

Prediction 2:
If Vika's not ready to comeback next summer, could see her taking a WC into one of the late season 125k tournaments (probably Honolulu), then using SR for:
AO warmup
AO
IW
Miami
Rome
Stuttgart
RG

She'd still have one more tournament, but would hopefully not be needed. S

When do you think we'll see Vika back on the courts?
