@Patsy...you sure are one nutty girl, but at least you're honest

I won't go too much since this is kinda OT but...

- try to watch our tv as much as you can if you want to learn it well and more easily; listening to the spoken word is I think the most important aspect of language learning; for instance it can take me quite a bit to get used to the sound of native German speakers when I watch German tv or even dubbed American shows, eventhough I have no problem understanding the written format in most cases
- you can watch various programs online, there's online radio...if you can catch some of the utterly ridiculous soap-operas and get by without brain damage, it'd be a good idea, cause their pronounciation tends to be good (maybe even too good for daily use)
- if you can understand Josipa and all her linguistic fornications with pronounciation, you're doing quite good
- news are always a good idea, pronounciation is usually OK (depends on the channel, though), speech is not too fast - plus as you say, it gives you an idea on the latest bribing rates
- interviews on YT really are a nice idea, can't hurt and you can also find things like cartoons there, you just have to know the titles.

Anyway, if you'd like to discuss this further or need some assistance, hit me up with a PM

Well - as I am native speaker of a different slavic language, it's easier And I also have some Croats around me who help me out with declination for example (which is also not that bad). I can for example watch now interview with Josipa and understand about 30% what is she talking about or maybe even 40 Plus I also took a citizenship test I've found in internet and got more than 50% on it (I just fckd up questions about history before independence era + questions about some famous people and some related to law, but just because i had problems with understanding them). So I can say Croatia is my third motherland
I am not a big fan of singing males, from Croatian scene I just like one song by Cetinski (23 Prosinac) and 2 songs by Mejasi. I also listen from time to time to Severina or Danijela Martinovic, but just for fun (cause they set me to a very good mood), but my real Croatian pearl is Josipa, who stands in one row with Bjork to me
I'm also watching Dnevnik to know who was the next bribed politician in Croatia And I also look for a videos of my favourite croatian athletes on youtube where they speak Croatian (Sandra Perkovic, Janica, Ana, Borna, Ivan, Goran, Marin - but never Blanka with her church bullshit ).

Volim te Hrvatsko

Too much time spent on learning Croatian with cheesy old songs "Ej sta mi radis" and "Sve oko mene je greh" Josipa lyrics are too difficult for a beginner even those written by Alka
