historically this event has a high cut off point unlike Brisbane which is usually top heavy.

Last year the #1 seed in qualifying was #48

Brisbane was #79

After the HKG saga, don't expect her to be anywhere other than mandatory events.
Not sure about Ivanovic though. Don't think she normally plays the week before the AO.

I like that Caroline is switching up her pre-AO schedule this time. The Brisbane/Sydney thing has never really worked for her.

Piotr Wozniacki hasn't ruled out Caroline Wozniacki also playing Sydney if she makes an early exit from Auckland.
