How do you know she is retired? Did you hear this pesonally?
Her last event was only like 3 months ago, maybe she is applying for SR.
Anyways, I think she could still be back, dont want her to work in a dead end job.
You need to be injured to do that, it can't be just off sheer laziness

I'd say Bea is more or less finished, even if she does attempt a comeback. I saw her play a couple of WTT matches this summer and she put on performances that would have left any seriously committed athlete on tears. There are probably 20 or 30 junior girls at the national level that could beat Bea right now.

Andrew. Bea has pretty much retired. She played a match in the Bronx 50K and lost easily in the first round.

Venus Forever Bea lost 6-1 6-4.

There goes her ranking to the low 100s, maybe upper 200s.

Gowza c'mon bea!

Venus Forever Bea faces Patty Schnyder in the first round.

I think this is very winnable for Bea. Patty is not exactly a hardcourt player, and this will be her first match on hardcourts since April.

Go BEA!!

Gowza Angela haynes is just beat grande in stanford, i think if she can beat raymond in round 2 and gives capriati a touogh match in the quarters then she could get ahead of bea.

i just hate seeing potential go to waste. that's why i'll usually defend a young player or an inexperienced player.

whiteplains She got a great opp last year, took advantage of it and then did absolutely nothing...she should be at least top 100 now...but she is not and her entire ranking hangs mostly on one result...

She'll probably end up getting one based on her "local girl" appeal, but I would rather it go to someone like Teryn Ashley or Sunitha Rao...

Maindraw WC's are already going to:
Shenay
Carly
Ally
Bethanie
Amber

she needs to play some tourneys leading up to the Open, do well and help her case for a WC
