KaseyL This sounds like a plan, Angele!

Why shouldn't we simply tell them they don't need to bother, we'll take care of the matter!Showing up is all they need to do, can't be that hard LOL

Kim Clijsters talks about the things of life inside and outside tennis.

"I invested my first prize money in Euro Disney shares."

The tennis season of Kim Clijsters was marked by shoulder problems and a coach change. But that is in the past. The world number five prefers to talk in Luxembourg about her shares in Euro-Disney, her boyfriend's admiration for Australian football and the wedding of another Belgian topplayer, Justine Henin. A sprankling monologue.

Kim: "I really got over the coach change. You can see that at the results of the past weeks. I am enormously enjoying myself. Starting with Marc Dehous has given me an extra stimulus. You always have to work extra hard after such a change of coaches, not only during the matches but also at practice.
I am a lot on the phone with Carl Maes, and we still e-mail each other. He doesn't advise anymore. We now have a friendship relation, instead of a coach-player relationship.

It goes well with that stress fracture at my shoulder. ( )I just have to do my shoulder exercises and keep on doing it.
That is very hard, sometimes. Last week in Zurich some matches were only finished by midnight or 1 AM. I then feel after a few days of non practicing them that I do have a need for them, though.

That injury was the biggest setback this season. I had to cancel a few matches as a result. But somehow it also was an advantage.
I am more fit now and play with a lot of hunger. John Mc Enroe came to me during Wimbledon and told me that such an injury just happens... You only can learn from it.

Half November, I am going to Australia (to boyfriend Lleyton Hewitt). I am not going to do anything the first two weeks. I don't fear that my shoulder should be hampering me again next year. It is important not to go for 100% at practice at once and put suddenly stress on my shoulder. The first weeks will be mainly focused on fitness training."

Marriage?

... (talking about Justine’s wedding and that she won’t be there, then she adds

“If I feel ready for a marriage? I don’t know, because I haven’t been married before. I rather get married if we have enough time.” (she always finds good excuses )

... (See other articles re this topic)

Re the Porsche:

“I am also not so crazy about cars. I have my jeep.”

(Then she talks about the Seat she gave to Elke last year. see other articles re this topic)

“I always look forward to come back to Bree. But I already have enough of it after three days. After Luxembourg I first have to plan what I will do. I’ll get bored to death otherwise.

I wouldn’t therefore be able to stop with tennis for a month, like Serena, although I can afford it. Besides, Serena doesn’t need to play week in week out. She is also occupied with fashion design. When she comes back, she then likes it a lot again. I was surprised that Serena first flew to the States for the US Open, then to Tokyo and then to Leipzig. And she then wins all of these three tournaments.

Serena gets luxurous hotel rooms. But mine are nice too, you know. The one from the Australian Open is the most luxurous one, though, always get a suite there. That is because Lleyton knows the owners of that hotel.
I don’t experience the hotel life as lonely. I am not much alone there, although I sometimes enjoy to be alone at my room. I then do what I like. But I ocassionally go in town for a bit of a walk. Without my sunglasses and a hat, yes.”

… (then she talks about Lleyton changing his check-in names, and people who keep on sending her letters, ... see other articles)

... (re the US Open):
“For that matter, during the US Open, I didn’t feel unsafe re the Sep 11 attacks last year. The security measures were that huge. Typical American style; just too much.”
(Then she talks about her visit to Ground Zero, see other articles).

With all these bombs, I even feel less like it to go to the Olympics in Athens. I don’t consider tennis as an olympic sport. On top of that, it’s on clay and it coems just before the US Open. Players like the Williams sisters will think twice, though, before they’d commit to it. There have already been several players who say that they find it badly organised. It is a difficult choice to me. If I ‘ll go, it’s as a Belgian and to get a medal, but I wouldn’t be depressed if I didn’t succeed.”

… (then she continues about the election of Sports Woman of the Year
“I don’t think of it yet. I don’t expect that I will win it. Moreover, I was astonished these past three years that I got that honour. When Sabine and Dominique won it at the time, I then thought a bit like: ‘wow!’ I think now that Kim Gevaert should get it. She did well this year. It is difficult for me to follow other sports women for that matter.

Hey, what’s the time in fact? Already half past two! Oops, I should already have been on court for the practice session.”

END

KaseyL There is a full page dedicated to Kim's interview in today's De Morgen (Flemish newspaper).

A huge pic of Kim and Lleyton kissing in Wimbledon accompanies the article.

The reference to the article on the first page of the newspaper says "Kim Clijsters' fairytale" and shows a small pic of her in her red fila cap.

Most of the text is the same as in the other articles.

There are some interesting parts which weren't covered in the same way in the other articles.

I'll try to post them here.
