HUGE effort by the French team. They all show so much heart and fight, and I would love to see them win the final this time.

Really sad for this format of Fed Cup to be ending apparently when this year has had such high quality ties, and several teams (Romania, Czech Republic, Belarus, France plus Australia and USA to a lesser extent) have really risen to the occasion and in the past few years and brought their best stuff/players on a consistent basis.

Also hope all the posters on here complaining about how this week was "sooooo boring" due to no WTA events happening enjoyed their weekends and can go back to watching Bogota/Lugano highlights or whatever they prefer .

Wow. That is just nasty

Didn't realise how self-obsessed she is.

"If she accepted to play Fed Cup, I would never say no only because she is there. I am very professional. It was a choice. I have no problems with Caroline, it's she who decided, she did not to play anymore. We obviously have our pride and we won't run behind her. It's not definitely up to us to pray her that she plays Fed Cup.

But there are no barriers: if she wants to return, doors are not closed. Yannick's rule is to keep everyone under the same line. But he wants that every player gives her availablity for the whole run, not when you like. At the end of the day, it's easy: "yes or no""

Kiki really gives an arrogant vibe attitude in that interview. She just basically flip the whole situation as if it was 100% Caro's fault if she's reluctant to come back <img src="https://www.tennisforum.com/images/smilies/spit.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Spit" class="inlineimg" />

Lol mladenovic was never hailed as the next big thing. She’s known as the girl who keeps scratching her pussy during tennis matches. Also, she takes Fed Cup way too seriously; she’s not even French. The French crowd is known for turning against their players so she better watch out

So this Fed Cup once again confirms France is useless without Garcia. We'll see what BaJESUS does with Kristina in the future.

Garcia is too generous—if it was me, I wouldn't have returned to such hostile teammates. I hope France actually win the final this time, they definitely can, just need to gain the upper hand of Barty/Stosur in doubles considering Barty will likely win both her rubbers.

Those are just the beginning because in April 2017, Caro decided to withdraw from the Fed Cup team due to injury. Backed by the doctor for the French federation claimed that Garcia was indeed injured and they accepted her resignation. Apparently, Kiki thought Caro's injury was a fake.

In a matter of minutes, Kiki Mladenobitch, Alize Cornut and teammate Pauline Parmentier trolled Garcia with the same simple tweet, “LOL,” in response to her decision to pull out of the important event.

Oh, and another moment when Kiki threw Caro under the bus was :
“We met in Indian Wells in the ice bath and she was surprised I was actually cold with her. She wanted to know why I was cold and I was like ‘You’re asking me? If I hadn't known any better, I would've thought Kiki is the scorned ex dumped by Caro

The Romanians were in tears at their post-match press conference. Segarceanu spoke for them: “Yes, it’s brutal, but it’s tennis. We dreamed about the final. It was so close. You could see how hard the girls fought, how much they wanted it. Simona was feeling her hip, and she would have done anything for the win. But you could see at the end she was getting tired, a little late to the ball.

"Still it was a beautiful tie, a wonderful experience, unbelievable tennis. At the end just one team wins. In the last round, that was us with maybe just a bit of luck, a couple of balls, and here it was France’s time.”

So Halep, who received the Fed Cup Heart Award here before battle commenced, departs Rouen with her own heart broken. That historic first Fed Cup final for Romania must wait.

Poor Romanians, especially Simona and Monica. They were sooo close

Re: Gardenovic def Halep/Niculescu 5-7 6-3 6-4 FRA ROU 3-2 France In Finale

To be fair, Halep missed a lot of sitters at the net. Especially in the first set (which they eventually won anyway), but she was not solid in the forecourt most of the time. Moni wasn't great in the last stretch of the match (especially from the baseline) but her anticipation and initiative is what won them that first set.

And Gardenovic really raised their level throughout and got better and better. It's not like Niculescu was the only reason they lost that match.

Also people seem to have directed their anger towards her but forgotten that Begu had every chance against Parmentier.

Yes Halep carried the team to their two points, but most countries are 'one-woman teams', this is not unusual. Which is why when CZE and USA send their A-teams (who are more than just one key player) they usually win.

Re: Gardenovic def Halep/Niculescu 5-7 6-3 6-4 FRA ROU 3-2 France In Finale

To all those who said that Niculescu played well. What match were you watching? Do you know how much of a liability her forehand is? When you can’t even hit a proper forehand, that puts all the pressure on your partner. And that is what happened. Halep had to carry her in this match, because Niculescu didn’t learn to hit a proper forehand. Honestly having a player like Niculescu as your doubles partner is the worst thing that could happen to you. I feel bad for Simona.

Sure but the least she can do is criticize Caro professionally. Not trash talking her in public like that. Kiki is an adult, she should've act like one.

What's most important now is both will play doubles again in Olympics and FedCup Final
