Re: Wimbledon

Maybe she will ask for WC in Washington or Stanford? Ranking from 14.07.2014. US Open use for cut-off for main draw, so I think she secured that.

Re: Wimbledon

True, the quarterfinal im wimbledon against Radwanska hurts. But radwanska had soooo much luck in this match, so many netcords.

I would like to see her in one or two of the smaller tournaments after Wimbledon, to get match practice, confidence and ranking points. But she is not on any entry list, not a good sign for me. I hope she realizes in how much trouble she is ranking wise and that a comeback is by no means guaranteed despite a good match against Stephens.

She's always been injured with her left knee tendonitis and occasional sore right shoulder and she could still play cabably. But not anymore. Safarova in a slam semi is tough to take knowing Kiri will never get there. She had her chance in 2012 and let it slip away.

Re: Wimbledon

So when does Maria play again?

She really needs to play and win matches to get her ranking up.

Re: Wimbledon

Ugh. I didn't expect this flop after the pretty good play against Stephens.

Re: Wimbledon

Peng played amazing match, I didn't saw her play like that never. I only don't understand why Maria tried to beat Peng with power and no variety. Peng isn't tall so she picked up that powerful shots with ease. Also Peng was licky with lines whole match, but Maria sucked at net so much. On the bright side, she seems healthy and hope she can stay injury free.
What's next tournament for her? Anything before Montreal?

I thought it was more too. But Kiri plays so seldom. Her win in round 1 against slumbering Sloane was an abberation. Her atrocious loss and play against Peng is more the way she's played in the last year and that is damn scary.
I hope Kiri can find some of her old form this summer but I have my doubts. She looks shot as a tennis player. Seeing Little Maria as a punching bag for the rest of the tour is not what I want to see from her. Winning 3 game aagainst Peng? Really? t's too bad she never hired the right coach and stayed with the right coach. She needed one.

Makiri

Well, no one expected her to come this far! Just glad she's healthy!
