Tennis Poker 2011 Nations Cup!
Welcome to the second edition of the Tennis Poker Nations Cup!
I thought it was nice to have another team event with all the nations facing each other, instead of being divided into 2 different World Groups, so this game is back even if it wasn’t such a successful debut season.
The format is very simple and doesn’t require much work, so I'm very happy to add more Tennis Poker fun, with just a little change from the first edition.
The perfomance by each team will be simply represented by the average score: sum of scores by all the team members divided by the number of team mates.
Scores are the same used in Fed Cup, but with the particular format with rosters and rubbers, not necessarily a better score average means a better Fed Cup performance.
In each leg, teams will be ranked according to their average scores: the last 2 teams will face each other in the following leg and the loser will be eliminated
8 nations are competing in the 2011 season: one elimination per leg (starting from the second) means there will be only 2 nations left fighting for the title in the 8th leg. Average scores won’t be added leg after leg anymore as the only team surviving throughout all the season will be the Nations Cup winner
The results will be announced in the daily scores thread, team by team, starting from the safe central positions, up to the leg winner and down to the trouble zone.
This event will give points for the ranking by nations just like Fed Cup according to the final placements (8000 for the winner, 6000 for runner-up… with a 25% reduction after each season), but leg winners will also get a 100 pts bonus.
Good luck everyone!
