Here's the thread to discuss some possible improvements for the 2016 season.
SINGLES & DOUBLES
Last year we abolished the joker and the qualifying draws for singles and doubles, manly because of the reduced number of players. I can't see any reason to let them back, but if you think it's better to reintroduce them, I surely will.
Here's the first big change I would like to try. Let's give one Doppio Giallo title per leg, just like the regular doubles tour. We give performance and round points, just like in the regular doubles tour, for an individual Doppio Giallo ranking. And, of course, we do change pairs after each leg, the main feature of the Doppio Giallo event. From that point on, we can still give medals at the end of the season to the ranking top 3, and maybe even introduce the Doppio Giallo event in the 2017 Worlds.
FED CUP & WORLDS
No changes planned. Let me know if you have any idea.
Here's the second proposal for a new rule. Singles, doubles, Fed Cup, Worlds main draw byes can affect the result of a Champions League match reducing the number of available points. This means an advantage you have gained by merit has a negative impact; thi sdoesn't seem fair. On the other hand, giving full points for a win would be too much, as the hypothetical match could have been lost as well. So, what about giving about 0.2 for a singles bye, 0.1 for a doubles (or any other event such as Fed Cup rubbers) bye?
