2019 FWTT Official Thread (New Players Enter Here; Rules, Points, etc.)

Welcome to FWTT (Fantasy Womens' Tennis Tour)

History
FWTT (Fantasy Womens' Tennis Tour) was born on April 10th, 2000. We are currently in our 17th year of existence - the longest fantasy tennis game EVER.

The first tournament ever held was Hilton Head, which was only a singles tournament. Doubles were introduced the next week in Hamburg. The creator and first director of the game was Alek. It is currently run and managed by several members of the player's council (Buitenzorg, Nikarock, S-T-E-V-E).

Re: 2017 FWTT Official Thread (New Players Enter Here)

How do I join this game?

  • Create a FANTASY PLAYER with the following information
    • Name: Mary Davies
    • Birth date: May 30, 1984
    • Nationality: France
    • Surface Preference: Hard, Clay, Grass
    • Post it in this thread as a reply!
    • Note - you do NOT have to play juniors. All new players to the game will be granted direct entry into the pros. Juniors are for those who are interested in running a second player. Please check that sub-forum if you are interested in creating a second player for the game.
  • What is the purpose of surface preferences?
    • Surface order determines how many points you will be able to use for a tournament
    • Your first preference will be 105 points for the tournament
    • Your second preference will be 102 points for the tournament
    • Your third preference will be 100 points for the tournament
    • You can earn additional bonus points by winning events
  • How do we get a score?
    • The score is divided between three sets
    • For example: Here are the points you send
      • First Set: 45 points
      • Second Set: 30 points
      • Third Set: 30 points
    • Your opponent sends:
      • First Set: 30 points
      • Second Set: 60 points
      • Third Set: 15 points
    • In this example, you would win 7/5, 3/6, 7/5
  • How did we calculate this score:
    • Difference of 61 or more points = 6/0
    • 50 to 60 points = 6/1
    • 40 to 49 points = 6/2
    • 30 to 39 points = 6/3
    • 20 to 29 points = 6/4
    • 11 to 19 points = 7/5
      • 10 or less points difference is a tiebreak
        • 10 = 7/6(0)
        • 9 = 7/6(1)
        • 8 or 7 = 7/6(2)
        • 6 or 5 = 7/6(3)
        • 4 or 3 = 7/6(4)
        • 2 = 7/6(5)
        • 1 = 7/6(6)
        • 0 = 7/6(7) or higher depending on drama
    • If points in a set or tied, then the player that has the higher surface preference where the event is played will win. If the surface preference is the same, then the higher ranked player will win. If they are tied in rankings, a coin toss will determine the winner.
    • At Australian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon there is no 3rd set tiebreaker. An extended set will be played in lieu of a 3rd set tiebreaker.
    • If you face a computer player or a player that sends no points, the above score table is null and void
    • The score table is a guide and adjustments can be made by the director when needed

Re: 2017 FWTT Official Thread (New Players Enter Here)

Points to Send
  • Each player will start out with their base points of 105, 102, and 100 points
  • If you have ever won an event from 2000-2017, you win "forever" points on that surface.
  • Grand Slam/Olympics Gold = 1.5
  • Premier 5/Premier Mandatory/Tour Championships/Olympics Silver = 1
  • Premier 700 or 600/Olympics Bronze = 0.5
  • International/$125K = 0

What about events won in 2019?
If you win an event in 2019, you will receive additional points on to your points to send.
  • Grand Slam = 7
  • Premier Mandatory/Premier 5 = 5
  • Premier 600/700 = 3
  • International = 2
  • $125K = 1
These points will be dropped off at the end of 2019 and be converted to the "forever" points listed above.

There is a cap of 115 points MAX per surface.

For more information, please see this thread: https://www.tennisforum.com/76-fwtt/...5B2017%5D.html

Re: 2017 FWTT Official Thread (New Players Enter Here)

RULES FOR PLAYERS

1. All new players will start on the pro tour. The junior tour is for players seeking to play with a second player. Please check that sub-forum for all events.

2. When you join the tour, you MUST be at least 16 years old.

3. You are not allowed to change surface preferences after you submit them the first time.

4. You are not allowed to change your player's name unless she 'marries', and so she can only change her SURNAME.

5. Each player may play an unlimited amount of events. However, the 22 best events will only be counted in your ranking.

6. Previous points may be used (if current event is on same surface) for no more than 2 weeks. There is also no guarantee that previous points will be used at all, however if they are kept then every effort will be made to use them. Example: Week 1 - You send points; Week 2 - You don't send and event is on same surface; if Week 1 points were kept they can be used; Week 3 - You don't send and event is on same surface; if Week 1 points were kept they can be used; Week4-You must send new points or you receive 0-0-0

7. If both players send doubles points, the following will apply:
- If neither specify which points to use, the points will be combined and averaged
- If one player specifies which set of points to use, that set will be used
- If both players specify that their set of points should be used, they will again be averaged

8. If neither player sends doubles points, singles points will be averaged (minus any bonus singles points). If one player does not send singles points, 0-0-0 will be used for that person's part of the doubles points.

9. If only one player sends doubles points, that player's points will be used for the team.

10. If you fail to send points for a Grand Slam, Premier 5, or Premier Mandatory Event you will receive 0-0-0 regardless of whether or not previous points are on hand.

11. In the event of a tie in points, the winner of that set shall be the player who has the preference of that surface higher. If there is still a tie, the higher ranked player shall win.

11. If you send too many points, any excess will be deducted from the set in which the set score is closest.

Also, make sure you rank all court surfaces (Hard, Grass, Clay) as you will receive 105, 102, and 100 points respectively for your preferences in order.
