Re: "Ask the board" thread! Vol 2 ( List of current TT board members in the opening p

ok, so I was thinking yesterday, totally random, and I figured this situation, don't know if it can even happen but it's worth a shot to ask

imagine you have 3 people who are LL and they have identical picks, SR and ISR, so you would go on TB1. But what would happen if Player A has a better TB1 then Player B, Player B then Player C and Player C then Player A? Also imagine that only TB1 is valid or something, because the other two were w/o or ret, IDK

so just hypothetically, what would said manager do in that situation?

That can't happen with TBs, no? One is always better than the other (or tied)

It could happen with ISRs, though.

but somehow I can't help from hoping
to find someone to talk to
who likes the way I am
who when he sees me wants to again

that's why I said I am not sure it could happen but if it could, what would one do?

yes, I always have stupid ideas, isn't it obvious?

If they have identical picks use countback.

If they beat each other in a circle with ISR (A def. B, B def. C and C def. A), then ask people who voted NO in THIS POLL

OR

You can use countback too.

If after the use of CB you still can't separate people I guess you will sort them in ranking order (if this happens ask board what to do).

TB built in a logical way, ISR is far from being logical

I am bad and that's good.
I will never be good and that's not bad.
I will always be me.

looks like the manager put the wrong Zhang as winner into the sheet.
You are right, K.Zhang won and you won your match on SRs!

Just send for tomorrow and Doug will correct it once he is online and sees your post!

Re: "Ask the board" thread! Vol 2 ( List of current TT board members in the opening p

hello fabulous board members

can you please expand on why for doubles, the rule change for 2015 stipulates that when a player does not send in a round other than 1R, a player can win a 1 vs 2 match in a 2 Day round but not a 1 Day round ???

Re: "Ask the board" thread! Vol 2 ( List of current TT board members in the opening p

it is impossible to give a walkover to a team on Day 1 already as it still could be the case that one player of the other team forgets to send picks on 2nd day as well, so in this case the team is allowed to stay in the draw and still has a slim chance to win as well.

Okay, this is a random question, but when I've been typing in the #LE# for the TT-Spreadsheet, the players are still added to the Entry Lists where their ranking indicates they should be rather than being added to the bottom of the entry lists behind lowly ranked players such as myself. Is there a solution to this? It's not a problem so far, it's just mightily inconvenient to have to move players around on the Entry Lists.

what if in a 2 Day Round, teams are tied after Day 1 and then one player forgets to send on Day 2? does the team where both players sent advance automatically or does it go down to a 1 vs 2 on Day 2

if it goes to a 1 vs 2 on Day 2, I don't see a huge difference between this situation and a 1 day round where one player did not send

you mean that LEs are sorted by ranking and not by commitment order when you use the EL maker?
or you talk about Top30 LEs only?
anyway, in both cases you have to make manual changes, thatīs right....

No, thatīs why we donīt do it when there is a two days round, we canīt eliminate them on Day1, so we also donīt do it on Day2

it would go down to 1 vs 2 in this case, as the majority the board didnīt want to punish teams in finals in which one sender had more correct picks than a team in which both players sent.

so in a FINAL (2 day round) between Player A / B vs Player C / D, is it possible for Player A to win the entire FINAL 1 vs 2 if Player B does not send for Day 1 AND ALSO does not send for Day 2 ???

in any other 2 day round besides FINAL (and R1 in which LL / ALT come in), a player must send for EITHER Day 1 OR Day 2 in order for his team to advance to next round ???

what if in a 2 day QF, Player B does not send for Day 1 AND ALSO does not send for Day 2 ???
