2019 TT Management Thread
Questions on becoming a tournament manager?
Every Tennis Tipping player is allowed to manage.
New managers should start with challenger tournaments to get a feel of how to manage.
A tournament thread should be opened at least 2 weeks before the tournament is set to begin.
If you sign up to manage a tournament, make sure you will have adequate time to provide updates to the thread, post differences on time, post the OOP on time, and answer any questions players may have. Make sure to also follow all the guidelines that managers are trusted to follow.
Anyone is able to request to manage a tournament - all you need to do is post what tournament you would like to have in the thread after that month's schedule has been posted. This thread will be updated regularly with the TT schedule and manager stats.
Management Guidelines for all Managers & Tournaments
Managers have to post at least one updated Entry List before the 1st deadline is over.
Managers have to post an updated Entry List once the 1st deadline is over and they need to post a further update of the Entry List once the Withdrawal Deadline (always Tuesday 6pm CET/CEST) is over.
Please make sure that you don't forget to post a list of players names only once the Withdrawal Deadline is over (to make it easier for the board to check for double commitments)
Managers should update the first page regularly with timely updates of: Entry Lists, Draws/Results, Daily OOP, & anything else they would like to add.
Managers should also post the TT Schedule of Play & Deadlines on the first page.
Managers should post timely differences.
Managers should be aware of the basic rules of TT & other rules vital for managing.
Managers should check for the deadline before they post the OOP. They should also post the OOP in time and post first and last names of the players, to make sure that everyone knows who will actually play.
When posting the OOP, make sure players know who to send to by posting a link to send you a direct message.
Managers should post a LL/ALT List.
Managers should post the list of players in the tournament thread after they post an actual entry list. This will allow the board to easily check for double commitments.
Managers should inform the board if a player enters with a PR
(protected rankings) or enters with a WC (wild card).
In ITF qualifying matches, there is now a match TB in the 3rd set. Please make sure you make that aware to players if there are qualifying matches on the OOP. (ex. 64 46 10-5
64 46 64
The guidelines above are only the basic rules for managers to follow. However, many managers like to go a step further and post H2H's, interviews, schedule of play's, etc.
MANAGERS, DON'T FORGET
The TT OOP should have in its contents:
- The round for which you are tipping
- 3 matches should be Tie Break matches, others should all be SR matches
- TB1 should always be part of the OOP from Day 2 and at least one TB should be part of Day 1 (if there is a two days round), rest is up to the manager
- The person/people TT players are suppossed to send their picks to and the deadline to send picks
The TB matches should be considered to be the most difficult to predict in the schedule!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Looking forward to a great 2019!!
