Have a "Blast" this Festive Season Everyone!

Just a few words to wish everyone happy holidays and a festive season which brings much love - in any of its myriad forms - peace and joy. Thanks for being such a great gang of witty, smart, sharing and knowledgeable tennis friends and here's to a great year for the blast, its contributors and all those great tennis players that we love and admire in 2005.

Andy

A very happy 50th to the great Chrissie for tomorrow.

Here's wishing everyone a very happy holiday! Let's all drink to the success of the Blast and also to the players (the greats and the also rans) who gave us so many memories to treasure. (Except for you, Mark37 - I think you've already drunk more than your fair share )

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)

Great idea guys! I shall definitely raise a chalice to all of the greats that continue to give us so much joy and to the good people on the BFTP forum who are so willing to share their thoughts and memories. A very Happy Holiday to each of you!
