Was that where McEnroe asked Evert if Connors was the first man she slept with?

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)

Is John Paul II the first Pope?

No, no, I'm being serious for a change. Someone told me that McEnroe actually asked Chrissie if Connors was "her first" and that she said he was.

Considering how few are watching the Mac's show I think Evert's secret is safe...

Speaking of JMac-a new book by Bill Scanlon covers mens tennis in the 80s. Rumor has it he dishes the dirt on Mcenroe, Borg, Connors, etc. If someone reads it please let us know what Scanlon says about the gals.

Are you surprised?Actually,I think it has more to do with his ENORMOUS ego.He loves to hear himself talk, and try and be the center of attention.

He despises women's tennis{after the boys semis and final,,and Federer's general domination,I really don't know how he can criticize}but you notice when there is a hyped women's match...he always has to get his ass in the commentating booth to be apart of the action..he can't stand not being part of something that has alot of ppl talking.

Bad News for McEnroe

Rollo: Scanlon barely mentioned any female players, besides saying that he was Martina's practice partner for a time and really admired her work-out routines which he described in some detail. Mentioned Evert's name in passing (as she was also influenced by MN work-outs). Very good book though, as it is primarily his first-hand experience on the tour. I esp enjoyed his writings on Lendl (his sometimes dubs partner), and of course, his on-court battles w/Johnny Mac. It's tough looking at McEnroe the same way after reading it though. Scanlon paints him as caculating (no spontoneity in his on-court fits), opportunistic and ruthless - someone who'd do almost anything to win a match..the first few pages alone really pack a punch.

I caught most of Mac's "interview" with Evert; unfortunately the best word I can describe it as is superficial. After receiving several 0.00 TV ratings (less than 37,000 watching his show per night), I'm frankly surprised the thing is still running...

OMG,its a train wreck.I watched an epi tonight, and he had some some guy on named Sid Rosenburg ,who ever he is??Well the conversation steered toward the homophobic Rozenburg's calling the u.s. women's soccer team a bunch of "juiced up dykes".Ah whatever.
So then John-boy pipes up and says that in his sport that has changed, like having lesbians in the sport was a bad thing .
The conversation continues with Rozenburg now going into kiss-ass mode by saying that Amelie MORE_RAYZ_MO was one of the best players in the world, blah, blah, and then he throws in Gabriela Sabatini's name.Like she is a out lesbian. Huh,when did she come out? Alot ppl have questioned about her ON MB'S, but she has never come out.

Perhaps, this is a new tactic to help his ratings,by having the homophobic, politically incorrect on his show?YAWN.Most of this crap isn't even new.
