Dianne Evers Thread

Dianne Evers created a wonderful blog/site at: Today

Evers biggest title is the 1979 Australian Doubles with Judy Chaloner.

Her site has a wonderful scrapbook quality to it.

Re: Dianne Evers Thread

One question I would ask Evers is this: Why did so many sources list her as Diane (with 1 n) instead of Dianne?

Re: Dianne Evers Thread

Wow... great find Rollo. Thanks for posting.

The articles, badges, players passes in the professional years section of the website was great to look through. Some nice technique on the serve

.... at the article about the $35K prize-money for the 1978 Australian Open and how it was justified now that the top two seeds were out. Typical sexist, cronies in Australian tennis (and media).... a higher prize packet may have attracted better players.... even the upgraded amount of $100K was still 2/3rd's less than the men.

Diane knocking out an apparently love-struck Sue Barker over Greg Norman (Greg was getting an entrée before eventually moving to bigger things with Chris) in the quarters of the AO was probably her best victory. Despite being ranked higher than Chris O'Neil (only by 6 places) she was swept aside by Chris O'Neil 0-6 3-6.

There's more to life than just being happy.
