Edit Post bug

Hi ...

When editing a post I'm presented with an old version of the text to edit.

The post in question is the PAW thread's first post in the Linz forum. I edit the post repeatedly to run the game. When I click "edit", the text I'm presented with to edit is not the current text for that post. Instead it is text from about 12 hours ago.

(The problem is not limited to that post. The same thing happens with the PAW thread's first post in the Luxembourg forum.)

I THINK the problem is to do with it displaying a page from my computer's memory rather than going to the net and finding the latest one.

(i) I pressed Refresh on the PAW Luxembourg post (the 'Edit Text' page) and it updated it. (That didn't work when I tried it last night though.)

(ii) The PAW Linz page had gone back to the old text when I looked at it this morning. This presumably happened when I was attempting to edit it last night (although I THOUGHT I'd taken care to hit the Back button each time I was on the Edit Text page). I've since successfully updated this page.

(iii) I'd like to force it to go look for the latest page every time. I don't know if the problem is in WTAworld.com, in AOL, or in my PC.

The links, should you need them, are:

http://www.wtaworld.com/showthread.p...threadid=41906

http://www.wtaworld.com/showthread.p...threadid=41909

Right now, things SEEM to be okay.

you can force internet explorer to check the server for a new version of the page every time you visit by going into tools/internet options/ and clicking the "settings" button under "temporary internet files"

that will prevent your problem of viewing a cached version of the page

Thanks, Poe. Since AOL uses Internet Explorer settings I think that will probably solve it.

Actually, I still get some old pages having set Internet Explorer's "Check for newer versions of stored pages" setting to "Every visit to the page". That includes when I'm browsing using Internet Explorer itself.

I guess I'll just have to remember to hit Refresh whenever the WTAworld "time now" does not match my clock.

Netscape, though, seems okay based on a couple minutes surfing.

In any case, it looks like the problem is not within the site.
