Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

I think it's unfair, she just won Wimbledon, even non-Serena fans might be interested. Please, reconsider !

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

If you look in the bugs section of the forum, you will see that some posters think it is unfair that GM is crowded with Serena fans so they start reporting them. In an effort to appease those whiny posters they move or combine them so threads no longer make sense.

I am not conceited, I am just convinced

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

Because a few people have started complaining and they've promptly given in.

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

Because Serena has her own forum

And people were not just complaining about Serena threads but threads that don't belong in GM in general. There were several references made to Dementieva, Dulko, and the thread about WTA lesbians. So no one is picking on Serena

Because they are moving them to where they rightfully belong.

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

I opened a thread about Serena's defense (which looks soooo much better) and someone posted a reference to Serena's new fitness coach, giving interesting insights which I didn't know (and maybe many people?), and the thread was moved to Serena's forum where I barely go (I only go to Ana's forum because that's where I know people and I feel comfortable in). I think it was a bit unfair, Serena just won Wimbledon... what should we talk about then?

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

But isn't it normal to have so many Serena threads right now ? In a few days it will die down and be back to normal. And for the record I don't remember Venus threads being moved last year when she won Wimbledon...

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

Trust me....it'll stop. Unless the mods want the traffic to slow down(which could be the case), the moving of the Williams threads will stop. They are the two most signifcant players in tennis. Their presence is one of the driving forces behind this forum.

But in all seriousness:

3. Before posting a thread, please make sure it is in the right section of the board.

4. Threads about men's tennis (ATP) are not permitted anywhere on this board, if you wish to discuss it, go to http://www.menstennisforums.com.

5 Livescores/discussion when a match is in process are to be posted in the tournament section. (Past tournaments, current tournaments and upcoming tournaments) Any thread that contains livescore posts / discussion that is noticed by a moderator or brought to a moderator's attention via reported post will be closed without any further discussion and not re-opened. If you do not want threads to be closed, do not post livescores or discuss the match. This includes cheering or commenting on a way a player is playing during a match. Use the tournament forums to do for these purposes. Obviously, if posts are noticed after a match is complete, the threads will not be closed it it is too late and the match is over.

6. Video threads should be posted in the Media forum. Any such threads posted in General Messages will be moved or deleted.

7. Excerpts from player blogs should be posted in the relevant player's forum. Any such threads posted in General Messages will be moved or deleted. The exceptions are:
  • comments about general WTA issues - eg. on court coaching, doping etc - which may be allowed to remain if they are relevant to current tennis issues.
  • WTA's featured tournament blogs (one thread per tournament, don't make new threads for each blog entry)
8. Threads posted from members of a fan base to each other should be posted in the relevant player's forum. Any such threads posted in General Messages will be moved or deleted.

9. Make sure you also read the general forum rules which are also applicable here. If you encounter any problem on the board, those are to be posted in the Bug/Question forum. However ensure the question has not been previously answered by carefully reading the FAQ section. Any announcement or news about the board will be posted in the announcement forum.

Decisions will always be up to the mod/admin that handles the case at hand

Why hasn't this thread been moved into the Reporting/Suggestions subforum?

Re: Why do mods keep moving Serena threads ?

i think some threads are not even being read before they're moved. it's almost like serena in the title...just move it. there was a thread about Serena's Defense that should not have been moved since it pertained to her actual game, not her clothing line. that should have stayed in GM.

WS fans complaining about aggressive moderating in GM.

Now I've really seen it all.
