Re: Games Forum Request

Games forums are created when a game has enough players to ensure the game will be played. So far you only have started a sign up thread. When you do have enough players, the forum can be made.

Re: Games Forum Request

How about my request from May to put all games in Games Forum? Currently 15 Game Threads on page 1 of Wimbledon (which is supposed to be about Wimbledon, the tennis tournament). Games Forum has many subforums for games, including these (PAW, Tennis Tipping, etc.) Supposedly this is being discussed..... still discussing or are you ready to act?

Games related to actual tournaments (mostly prediction games) are played in the tournament forum. Other games in their own forum in the games section.

So the idea of moving games to a game place is not going to happen? Tournament forums will continue to have actual tennis threads about the tournament itself, mixed in with numerous games threads about the tournament? Even as we try to get more use in the tournament forums. I think games should be separated from tennis discussion/information threads.

Otherwise, why not take all the general games and mix them into GenMes? How is that different?

The moving of games is not going to happen, indeed. Games related to tournaments can be held in the tournament forum. So far we have not received many complaints about that. For other general games as you call them, we have game forums.

Re: Games Forum Request

I still don't get how any old game with twenty players gets a forum without second thoughts, yet for a player (which is the purpose of the forum) it takes years of begging .

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Crazy Frenchies: Gilles Simon Alizé Cornet

This is the right move to make for better organizing, and I know it will be done sometime later, when somebody else brings it up, and nobody will remember that I requested it in the first place but the idea was rejected. Happens all the time

Re: Games Forum Request

I am sorry you feel that way. It has been discussed carefully and that is the outcome. If we receive a lot of complaints, everything is open to discussion, but right now it is not seen as a problem the way it is.

Look at it this way - if / when it does happen, it'll be because you made us more aware of the problem.

Though it may not appear this way, few requests get granted outright on here without the issue having been highlighted previously and us having kept it under surveillance to assess the matter.

So it's a multi-step process to which you've made your contribution and other posters will have to play their part as Jim has indicated.
