Re: Cheering threads in GM?

IMO we should just delete all forums except GM and maybe NT.

Just put everything into GM to make things easier for all.

It may not be that bothersome now but it sets a precedent and then there will be more and more...

Re: Cheering threads in GM?

who cares, its the off season, theres no other tournaments but challengers and they are the kind of cheering threads which are made in GM because there is no individual tournament forum for Challengers as there is Main Tour events

Re: Cheering threads in GM?

Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what a cheering thread.

The poster that starts it usually has a counter argument as to why it's appropriate for GM.

In general terms though, you are correct in that cheering threads should be in the appropriate player / tournament forums.

So if you feel a thread belongs in another forum you are welcome to report the post.

That is definitely preferable to entering the thread and winding up the posters in it.

Usually they get moved if it's clear they're going to be ongoing but if no one is replying sometimes they get missed.

Alternatively you can just not open the thread .

I can also choose to not open a thread untitled "Serena Williams is a shit-faced gorilla", but that doesn't mean it should be there

Re: Cheering threads in GM?

I never said the threads should be there.

I was only trying to offer a solution that would attempt to keep everybody happy (impossible I know.)
