Why do some posters have special privileges?

Hi!

I know that some posters that were here from the beginning have avatars and have something other than "Senior Member" under their username. I understand that there used to be an option on here where you could do that.

But why does Andrew. have those privileges? He has only been here since August 2003 ? I don't understand. Can someone help tell me?

Thanks

To be a senior member you just need time on the board and some posts. So... after a while... you will become one. No fears.

right now you are a member... then you will become a junior member... and finally senior member...

It is names the title/rank system. VBulletin posses a feature as most bulletin boards do, which allow them to rank and title their users. I norder to become a better member (in the rank), you need to meet some specific requirements, and I believe you can be promoted to next rank depending on your post number.

Is that enough?

'Andrew.' was a site supporter, members could donate $$$ to WTAWorld, but this option is no longer available.

Certain members have "captions" under their username since this option was available for members joining in 2001.

It's junior member => member and then senior member.

About the custom titles. People who joined before the crash of the old sanex board (summer 2001) could ask for a custom title as they supported us before we were 'big'. now this isn't really an option anymore cos we have paying members. =>

that's where fi Andrew. comes in. He paid to have an avatar/custom title/ no popups/... when we allowed subscribing members. but those days are also over. of course we let them keep their priviledges as again they were the first to support us, this time financially.

that's your explanation
