Couldn't access Tennisforum for most of the last 4-5 days

And expected to come in here and find a shitload of complaints. Instead, nothing.

Was it just me?

I used two different desktop PCs to access the site, and was very rarely able to do so. Yesterday, for instance, not at all (same on Friday IIRC). Page wouldn't load. Always used Google Chrome. Had the same issue with MTF, but not as often.

Hey there,

What kind of issues were you running into when you attempted to log in?
If there was an error message, do you remember what it stated?

Richard.

Was your connection timed out on Google Chrome?

It wasn't an error message. I typed in TF's address, and the name of the website actually showed up on the tab, but the page wouldn't load at all. Could have been some bandwidth issue or something if it had happened on only one desktop PC, but it happened on two different ones - one of them a top end desktop with an ultrafast connection.

Haven't had this issue since for the record.

Thank you for reporting that to us. If it does occur again, see if the issue persists if you test the site on a different browser (and device) so we can see if this is an isolated issue. Clearing your cache/cookies and refreshing is always helpful too.

Also, check to see if it's only certain pages (if so, which ones? send links) and/or if it's the whole site that doesn't load properly - whilst looking to see if the page is hanging up on anything at the very bottom left hand corner of your browser window. It'll say something like "Waiting on xxxxx...." x being whatever script is waiting to load. Screenshots are useful as well.

Thanks for your patience and understanding on this matter.

Cheers,
Natalie

I had a similar issue about 3-4 weeks ago where I couldn't log in to MTF or TF (and by extension any Vertical Scope forum) because the screen would take forever to load and eventually give a 'connection timed out'. It was the same regardless of what computer I used or mobile phone. However I could access every other website fine, and apparently the forum was running from what I heard from others. I did figure that when I accessed the forums from my university network bringing my laptop, it worked fine. The problem persisted even after flushing my dns and clearing cache and cookies. So I contacted my ISP and they had me try to diagnose the problem by pinging to the server. (i.e. under the cmd prompt, type ping www.tennisforum.com), where I got no response while other sites did. So they told me to contact Vertical Scope directly with my IP address, which they said might have been 'dropped' (I sent this to mod email). It was cleared overnight. In the rare event something like this happens again, you can try my steps and then contact the website.

Matmagix,

Thank you for posting and outlining the steps you took which ended up working out for you. Glad to see you were able to sort that out!

Let us know if there's anything else we can help with - otherwise, enjoy the site!

Cheers,
Natalie
