How about a "Closed by ****" Notation

Either on the thread or sent to the OP. That way we'd know who to contact when a thread we opened gets closed.

Re: How about a "Closed by ****" Notation

This would have to be something I bring to the Mods attention, to see if they agree with this suggestion.
I will post to the mods, and post back here once enough feedback is given.

Richard.

Yeah. Like "The Council" or "The Cabal."

This is something I would be quite interested in as well, as I was asked for examples of something and asked to tell someone what deleted posts I reported or whomever deleted a thread I opened in response. There would be no way for me to know this anyway.

Re: How about a "Closed by ****" Notation

Hey guys,

I have brought this to our Mod/Admin team, and they are not keen on the idea.
If a post/thread is closed/deleted/removed, you can always contact this account, as well as any other Mod/Admin to clarify the reasons for the actions taken.

Thank you for your patience, feedback and understanding.

Richard.

??? I thought threads here were read directly by mods/admins.

To them: that you, overall are not keen on the idea is worrisome. It suggests that you want to operate in the shadows with no accountability or even responsibility to the thousands of people who keep this forum going.

If it were about deletions I'd understand as it would be unwieldy to have to note every time a post was deleted. But to not want to make it public who/why a thread was closed is . .yeah . .worrisome.

Re: How about a "Closed by ****" Notation

The threads are read directly by mods as often as they can get to it.
The mods have been reading over this thread, as they comb the forum constantly.
I wanted to take this suggestion directly to the whole team in the specific Mod/Admin section so I could get as much of the teams input as I could.

It's not about hiding in the shadows, as mentioned above, you can contact the mods about your closed/deleted/reported posts and they will let you know exactly who issued it and any other information your inquire about.
The resources it takes to implement this plug-in and follow through with it, is not conducive to the way the mods work.
They will always be here to help.

Richard.
