Cool "You know"

From AO website interviews

Monday ...

... this years tournament had low quality start with Serena Williams saying "you know" only 4 times. Federer was equally disappointing. 4 from him too. Old champion T. Johansson had better effort with 9, only to be seen his challenge fall short when Agassi showed little respect to other competitors. 10 from him, good effort from old man. That proved to be days best score when one by one younger opponents were no match to the "bold one" Sharapova recorded 9 being top woman in todays action. Poor effort from Moya as he got out only one "you know" he did had an excuse as not being fully fit. New kid Garcia-Lopez opened his campaign with 4, followed by Mauresmo who also got 4. Those that were up late were hugely disappointed when Safin took it easy and said "you know" only twice. Rock bottom was hit when last competior Stosur failed to say "you know" once. She did had alternative in "I mean" mensioning it cool 20 times.

Tuesday ...

... started as weakly as Monday had ended. Locals Arthurs and Guccione both failing to say "you know". Crowd was in for a treat when Molik continued her good form. Opening whole new level to this years, so far, disappointing competition. 20 from her. Clear leader at this point.
Myskina proved to be "I think" type. Mensioning it 10 times. But without "you know" she is in wrong league here. Roddick, concidered one of the favorites in this years tournament. Straight out of the gate he showed why. Making "you know"s from word go. He never looked back and ended with massive 28. After him officials were still counting and let Nadal on for a brief try. Looked like he never got going. So he was quickly out with zero "you know"s. Dementieva showed little rust netting good 17 "you know"s Molik has a strong challenger. Ferrero showed that he can still play. Solid 17 from him. Followed by Pratt with 12, former top Aussie no match to Molik. Day ended in another short try with Dechy making it zero "you know"s, her 6 "I think"s not very good either.

We are still waiting for late challenge from Hewitt, last time heard shouting "come on"s nearby. Just have to wait and see can he match Roddicks effort.

If it was ''for sure'', Justine would be into treble figures after her first sentence !!!

The foreign use of 'for sure' is weird. Hantuchova uses it a lot (though she's clearly not in Justine's league). Natural English speakers just don't say it.

The Russians say it a lot too, often to end a sentence. Very weird, for sure.

I'm not so sure, Spunky!
I'd say it would be pretty tight Jennifer-Kim final!

Looks like Hewitt was no show today. Or then webmaster is busy checking all "you knows"

Unofficial worldrecords

Andy Roddick after Wimbledon final 2004 - "You know" 70 times
Jennifer Capriati after US Open semifinal 2004 - "You know" 56 times
