Here is another exciting very young prospect for Czech Rep.
Marketa is only 13, she was born on June 28 1999 in Sokolov in CZE, and, interesting to point out, she's a left-hander, like many famous Czech tennis stars.
She started 2013 very strongly already with a final in G16 Tennisline Cup in Milovice, Czech Rep (lost to Verena Hofer); then she made SF at G14 Les Petits As (lost to Andreea Amalia Rosca), & won G14 TIM Essonne (beat Ekaterina Kazionova in the final), both tournaments in France.
Then, she stepped it up at the beginning of this month, winning G18 G5 San Michel International Tournament in Malta, as a qualifier (beating (2)Hana Mraz in QF and (1)Viktoria Kuzmova in F all in straights). This is 9 matches in a row. And it got her to get ranked for the 1st time, breaking Top 1000 directly.
Last week, she got a MDWC for G2 Slovakia Cup in Piestany, and reached QF. She beat another WC 3 & 0 in R1, (7)Andreea Ghitescu (#161) 2 & 1 in R2, (12)Luca Fabian (#257) 7-5 6-3 in R3 before falling 3 & 4 to (2)Gabriela Pantuckova (#66) - the eventual winner.
This loss broke her 18 matches winning streak (since TIM Essonne), but she moved up 318 spots in the rankings with a new ranking of 609 this week.
