It will probably deteriorate a bit depending on how some of the bigger names do in Wuhan and/or Beijing, but if the majority holds up, then that's a cracking list for an international.

This is an incredibly strong list, benefiting from the cancellation of Hong Kong.

Can’t see Naomi competing here if she gets to the semi final or beyond in Beijing.

Sloane will probably put in one of her usual non motivated performances and exit 1st round 6/1 6/3 v whoever.

May be a good chance for Venus here to actually win a match this fall.

Nice to see Peng get another go, I wonder if Stosur gets another WC, but we don't even know if she is in the Q list 3 days out.

You'd have to think a number of players will withdraw in the coming days, the likes of Kenin, possibly Riske if she beats Tomljanovic, Osaka etc. those who have played a lot over the past few weeks, then it'll depend on how far the likes of Mertens and Sloane get in Beijing. A lot of the middle pack like Mugu, Hsieh, Garcia etc. lost early, so they should remain you'd think.

I'm not sure if Spiceboy, that Italian tennis teen site and the WTA Entry List Updates (Twitter) are the same source / get info from the same source, but all 3 have been fairly quiet recently, no Twitter update from that page since Sept 18.

I would think Bertens may take a wildcard since she will need all the points she can get in the YEC race. Or does Tianjin not pay the extra money to have multiple top ten players?

It's pointless for her to play International because she would need to win title to add points and that means playing and winning 5 matches the next week after going deep in Beijing. I reckon she is safe by making SF and getting 165 points ahead of Belinda who now needs to win Linz. Kiki has signed up for Moscow just in case.
