15 yo Kamilla (born Aug 28, 2001) from Ekaterinburg had her breakthrough run at Les Petits As last year, where she reached the SFs (with successive wins over Mayorova, Adeshina, McNally & H. Sato, before falling in straights to eventual champion Potapova), and she's now knocking at the Top 100 door!
She's won 1 singles title so far this year: G3 NBU Cup in Tashkent (she was the top seed there, beat 4th seed Taisya Pachkaleva 2 & 2 in the final) in August; she reached another singles final earlier this year, at G3 Almetievsk (she was the 8th seed there, lost 2-6 6-2 3-6 to top seed Ekaterina Kazionova in the final) in Fevruary, and has 3 more SF appearances, all in G2s (in Tashkent in March, in Thailand last month, and in Israel this week).
She also won the Kubok RTT (which basically are the year-end Russian Junior Masters, with a prize money and all) both in singles & doubles in U17 cat. a few weeks ago: she beat Taisya 3-6 6-3 6-3 in the singles final, and in doubles she & Sofya Lansere beat Shalimova/Titova 3 & 4 in the final!
And just this week, she won another title with Sonya, at G2 Raanana in Israel: they were the 2nd seeds and they routined top seeds Levashova/Nazarkina 4 & 4 in the final!
She's made a big step this year, as last year she lost the 3 singles finals that she played (2 of them were at G18s: at the G3 in Tashkent that she won this year, and at a G4 in Samara) and this year she beat a lot of girls she used to lose to last year, like Taisya for instance!
