The Seedings based on rankings

As of 10.11.2003

The Womens rankings is first and the mens ranking is second

Based on Mens and Womens Rank it should be

Usa - 3-37 = Combined Rank of 40

Bel - 2-56 = Combined Rank of 58
Svk - 19-40 = Combined Rank of 59
Fra - 4-61 = Combined Rank of 65
Rus - 7-73 = Combined Rank of 80
Cze - 161-13 = Combined Rank of 174
Hun - 40-178 = Combined Rank of 218
Can - 112-205 = Combined Rank of 317

The womens side is so much stronger and just reiterates that whichever team's female player stands up will win the title

Mens' Ranking Order:

1. Jiri Novak (CZE)
2. Lleyton Hewitt (AUS)
3. James Blake (USA)
4. Karol Kucera (SVK)
5. Xavier Malisse (BEL)
6. Fabrice Santoro (FRA)
7. Marat Safin (RUS)
8. Attila Savolt (HUN)
9. Frank Dancevic (CAN)

Womens' Ranking Order:

1. Kim Clijsters (BEL)
2. Serena Williams (USA)
3. Amelie Mauresmo (FRA)
4. Anastasia Myskina (RUS)
5. Daniela Hantuchova (SVK)
6. Alicia Molik (AUS)
7. Petra Mandula (HUN)
8. Maureen Drake (CAN)
9. Barbora Strycova (CZE)

This will probably be one of the closest competitions in years. Any of the Top 7 teams could win the Cup if they display good form. That's not to rule out the Hungarians (if they qualify) either as Mandula is capable of a good week. Sadly, only the Canadians (if they qualify) would be outclassed in this tournament.

CZE 1 - 9 = 10
AUS 2 - 6 = 8
USA 3 - 3 = 6
SVK 4 - 5 = 9
BEL 5 - 1 = 6
FRA 6 - 2 = 8
RUS 7 - 4 = 11
HUN 8 - 7 = 15
CAN 9 - 9 = 18

I reckon there would be the new team seeding because Serena is pulled out and also if we are looking based on above ranking, so ... it should be

#1 United Stated (USA) Blake Rank is higher than Malisse
#2 Belgium (BEL)
#3 Australia (AUS) Lleyton rank is higher than Santoro
#4 France (FRA)

#5 Slovak Republic (SVK)
#6 Czech Republic (CZE)
#7 Russia (RUS)
#8 Hungary (HUN) or Canada (CAN)

Now they would be good seedings Except I would put belgium ahead of USA, Mallisse beat Blake at last years hopman.
But unfortunately it isn't happening

I would also love to see Belgium as #1 seed here, BUT as USA is The Defending Champion so I say they will be still seed #1 eventhough Belgium have a BIG chance to win this year title ... Go OZ

Probebly The top 3 would be

Belgium number 1 because of Kim's singles rank and her doubles rank outclasses anyone plus Xavier is a great Classy player although Olivier Rochus would be my choise

Then put Australia Lleyton is a former Number 1 and his matches against Federer coming back from 5-3 in the 3rd set and his outstanding 5 set victory over Juan Carlos Ferrero supports that and Alicia Molik has had an outstanding year probebly moved up about 60-80 places

United States number 3 Lindsay is a good player but is a bit injured and wasnt playing well i dont think at the end of the season also Blake is weird he can be on fire with his amazing forehand or he wont turn up for the day and get outclassed

Goodluck in 2004 to all my fav's:

Justine Henin Hardeene Kim Clijsters Jennifer Capriati Paola Suarez Patty Schnyder Silvia Farina Elia Alicia Molik Anca Barna Dinara Safina

Aussies
