Re: Carla Suárez Navarro

Carla era una de las que más se beneficiaban del on court coaching y le iban muy bien los consejos de Budó, no sé cómo le puede ir ahora con otro entrenador

Re: Carla Suárez Navarro

Commiserations to Carla today, but good to see she is getting some form back and playing intelligently. Keep working and get your good form back.

Re: Carla Suárez Navarro

Wow, this thread is quiet. Good run from Carla this week to make the quarter-finals on Indian Wells as 27th seed.

R1: BYE
R2: def. Su-Wei Hsieh [Q] 6–4 2–6 6–3
R3: def. Elina Svitolina [4] 7–5 6–3
R4: def. Danielle Collins [WC] 6–2 6–4
QF: lost to Venus Williams [8] 3–6 2–6

She's up to WTA 22nd in provisional rankings, heading into Miami.

Re: Carla Suárez Navarro

Carla, seeded 30th, is making a good run through the US Open draw again.
I went to her first week's matches and compared to previous years, she's quite a bit more aggressive and expressive (talking a lot to herself when she messes up). Her first two matches were on the smaller courts and then court #17, a smaller stadium. Hope she holds her nerves--I can definitely see her having a slow start on the big stage tonight against Sharapova. Last time they met (in Rome 2015) she played well but just completely ran out of gas ... hoping for a better result against a a post-meldonium Pova.

Her road so far:

R1: def. Nicole Gibbs 5-7 6-3 6-4
R2: def. Kristina Mladenovic 6–1 4–6 6–4
R3: def. Caroline Garcia [6] 5–7 6–4 7-6(4)
R4: vs. Maria Sharapova [22]

Re: Carla Suárez Navarro

Wow. There really is NOWHERE to cheer on the wonderful Carla. Into the 4th round at Wimbledon and no articles, no interview, no interest even in her own fan thread.

Usually there's just a few of us cleaning out the cobwebs in here. Whenever I see her play in person I'm reassured she has a small but dedicated group of fans around the world... but not so much on TF. Well done Carla!
