Was at the tournament yesterday and saw Ysa's match.
Very hard to see. She was in total control and played great in the first and the first part of the second.
Paquet made a lot of errors while Ysa made a lot of winners (especially on her forehand side) and was very consistent.
It still surprised me to see she can easily hit so much winners with not a lot of running.
She was up 61 52 and served for it at 5-3. Then suddenly her level dropped completely and she made error after error.
There was also something wrong with her because she started crying at the end of the second, and called the physio. (she had an left arm injury, according to the site)
She had a MTO off court. And when the 3rd set began, it was clear she couldn't serve at 100%.
Her groundstrokes were still good, and still she made a couple of nice points.
But it looked like she didn't care anymore, so the match was over after Paquet broke her again in a very intense game at *2-4
I don't know what to think about this. Imo it wasn't the injury that costed her the match.
She's still so unlikable on court and complains a lot.
She also looks a lot at her coach (almost after every point!) and at some point she looks like she has no clue what she is doing...
With her gamestyle, she can definitely be top 100 soon, but she has to change her attitude.
But that is something we already saying for years, right?
