Emily is delaying her return to academia to play the ITF tour. She's through to the final of this week's Tunisian 15K, where she'll play Fran Jones.
She's alternate for the Riviera All-American qualies, 2017 Riviera ITA Women's All American Selections., but not in the PQ list. Maybe Stanford think the PQs are beneath them (or maybe they don't fit with their academic year, which is somewhat different to most American universities).
It stands for Grade Point Average (the average score of her gradable papers as a university student, I think). As for what it means, such questions are too deep for me. Anyhow, she's doing very well academically.
Knocked out before the medal rounds in both doubles competitions, but into tomorrow's gold medal match in singles, against Sato from Japan. Should be streamed somewhere, but I'm not sure if it's free, and tbh I can't imagine there being much interest. Not sure of the scheduled start time; saw 20:00 local (19:00 BST) somewhere, but that could be wildly wrong.
I hope no one did take my word for it; the final was much earlier. Emily lost to Sato in straight sets and had to settle for silver.
