If that is anything like accurate, it sucks.

It's a pretty dishonourable thing to do, an his comment about people ditching him because they weren't going to make the cut here doesn't apply because there is no way they wouldn't have got in. Also, since when did two wrongs make a right?

We all know Cori is a prodigious talent, but currently, she is ranked below Dart in both singles and doubles, so that is just bullshit.

On a far brighter note, Harriet joins the fairly small list of British women to make the third round in singles.

That is really far more important, but she should have had the chance to play mixed, too - she is far better than the players who have received wildcards.

I agree. I'm sure Harriet will have forgotten about it now in the delight of getting to the 3rd round.

Jay just lost against Federer (unsurprisingly) but he put up a good show and even took the second set to a tie-break. Hopefully he has a good future too.

You're certainly right about this. From 2012 onwards Jo, Heather and Laura have achieved this. Elena Baltacha achieved it in Australia in 2010 and 2005 and Wimbledon 2002 and Anne Keothavong in the US Open in 2008. That completes the list of all our ladies to reach the 3rd round of any Grand Slam in the 21st century. It is a case of well done Harriet Dart.

All of those others you mention peaked within the top 50. It's good company to keep. Shame the list isn't longer.

Re: Double Top: Harriet Dart

A bit of a reality check for Harriet. Still, not unexpected, although I sorry she could have won a couple more games. She did really well to get to the third round though and a great experience to play the world number 1 on CC at Wimbledon. Not many people get that opportunity.

At least she wasn't bagelled. And now she's had the consolation of watching Jay lose in R1 MxD.

Re: Double Top: Harriet Dart

It was a big ask.. Barty is the best player in the world right now and grass is her best surface. Would not be surprised to see Barty do the FO-Wimbledon double.

Harriet played some very nice points though... I really liked the point she played to win her first game in the first set.

I'm not surprised Jay/Gauff lost.. Gauff's mum looked pissed off throughout the whole affair...
