Re: Double Top: Harriet Dart

However, Dart did manage to defeat the no.1 seeds in doubles, Kato/Ninomiya, with her Russian partner Savinkh.

They won 1-6, 7-5, 10-4..so looks like they just managed to sneak the win..But that's still pretty impressive against such a solid pair with a lot of experience.

Dart does seem to really excel in doubles.. She's now 92 in the live rankings. Could we possibly be looking at a future doubles specialist here?

Hopefully not, but yes, her doubles do seem to be going well with her Wimbledon exploits, W60 title last week and superb win last night - if in a year or two she sees her future going that way then good luck to her, but I still hope there's a long term fringe top 100 single's player in there.

Re: Double Top: Harriet Dart

She ought to try playing a few doubles tournaments with Hev. It'd be useful for them to have some experience as a team in case of future Fed Cup ties.

Lightening couldn't strike twice. They made another great comeback to take it into the MTB, but this time were very much 2nd best in it.

Looks like the advice worked - Harriet beat Lapko in R1 Nottingham.

Burrage, Dunne...

Great to have Harriet back and winning. Look forward to seeing her at Wimbledon, if not before.

Re: Double Top: Harriet Dart

It really is quite a shocking rosta of injured players, and Gabi didn't play last week, and retired in R1 of her last two tournaments, so I wouldn't be surprised if she has some issues too.

I'd think Harriet would be in line for more WCs before Wimbledon, if she feels up to playing.

No, she won a match in the MD at Brisbane this year and she also won a MD match at Eastbourne last year.

But great win for Dart! Next is Tomljanovic, who seems pretty allergic to grass, so not too bad of a draw here.

Hopefully the match will actually be on grass. Due on court in 10 minutes.

Let's hope they manage to play it on grass then.

Not just for Harriet, of course, all the players need grass experience.

Played indoors, with the predictable outcome: 7-6, 1-6, 2-6.

Re: Double Top: Harriet Dart

Wow, Dart is playing doubles in Birmingham with the legend that is Venus!

They are in a tough section of the draw though...

(4)Groenefeld/Schuurs v Chan/Chan
N. Kichenok/Spears v (wc)Dart/Williams

Dart is a really decent doubles player though.. Maybe Venus sees something in her..who knows.. I love random doubles pairings like this though. Reminds me of Rayson.
