Re: Right jab: Jodie Burrage

R2: Jodie Anna BURRAGE (GBR) def. Maria Lourdes CARLE (ARG) 6-2 6-7(3) 6-3

Also worth pointing out that this week Jodie is back on the WTA rankings - #1163!

This is thanks to 1 point each from qualies in Eastbourne and Birmingham, and 2 points from the Chiswick $10k last summer.

Her career high is #990 in 2015 with the Barnstaple $25k being the biggest contributor. Hopefully she can smash that later this year.

Jodie beats the rain and storms into the semi-finals!

QF: Jodie Anna BURRAGE (GBR) def. Taylor JOHNSON (USA) 6-1 6-2

She plays top seed Olesya Pervushina. First meeting.

She's in the SFs of the doubles too with Panna Udvardy. Having a great week so far.

Very close and great effort by Jodie this week. Bodes well for Wimbledon.

Re: Right jab: Jodie Burrage

Pretty good week, didn't beat anyone outstanding but got the job done. I'm disappointed she didn't nab a set today though - I had a feeling as soon as it went to the TB that she'd lose it. She's 2-10 in TBs this year now

Made it into the doubles final here as well where they'll play Potapova and Pervushina.

I have a feeling she'll flop next week but I'd like to be proven to be wrong.

Doubles F: Jodie BURRAGE (GBR) / Panna UDVARDY (HUN) [7]def. Olesya PERVUSHINA (RUS) / Anastasia POTAPOVA (RUS) [1] 2-6 6-4 [15-13]

What a close match but they beat the top seeds (also the singles finalists)! Well done Jodie and Panna.

Wimbledon Juniors R1: J. Burrage (GBR) def. C. McNally (USA) 6-4 3-6 6-1

A win! Much better than last year where she kinda had a panic attack in the second set of her match and lost in straights.

Re: Right jab: Jodie Burrage

Third on Court 4 tomorrow against 7th seed Dayana Yastremska.

Here's a video from BBC website of Jodie speaking after she was knocked out of last year's Wimbledon singles and doubles about her plans for the future:

Re: Right jab: Jodie Burrage

Wimbledon Juniors R2: D. Yastremska [7] def. J. Burrage 7-5 4-6 6-2

2 hrs 23 mins. A tough battle out there. Unfortunately not on a streamed court.

Jodie seems to have had trouble with her serve. 4 aces, 10 DFs, 53% 1st serves in. It's possible a higher percentage would have swung it for her. Total points won was very close between the two players. And they both had a ton of unconverted break points. Too many errors from Jodie in the end.

Re: Right jab: Jodie Burrage

A three setter for the Roehampton champs in round one.

Wimbledon Jr doubles R1: Burrage/Udvardy [8] def. Carle/Krywoj 6-7(10) 6-1 6-3

Of course several set points went begging in the first set during that epic tiebreaker. Then Jodie and Panna asserted themselves in the second set. Third was close at the start until the 8th seeds ran away with it at the end.

Serving got better from the winning pair as the match progressed. Five double faults in Set 1, none in Set 2 and only one in Set 3. And they were very solid on second serve points.
