Re: Next American Great?

Despite her beating Maria, I actually like Melanie a lot. I really hope she doesn't burn out.

Re: Next American Great?

Madison Keys impressed the crap out of me when I saw her in Cleveland. Strong serve and groundies.

What will hurt her/weaknesses: Age Eligibility Rules, can be very erratic, pressure (When you win a WTA match that young... it's hard for people not to put pressure on her.

Next grand slam great though... I mean Coco shows tons of potential. The movement and dealing with the pressure MUST improve though for her to even make top 30.

Melanie has the spirit and the intangibles. The forehand needs to improve though. Potential weaknesses: Needs to improve the backhand and serve. Dealing with the expectations.

Serena Williams ~ Maria Sharapova ~ Venus Williams ~ Jelena Dokic ~ Melanie Oudin ~ Christina McHale

Vandeweghe ~ Mattek-Sands ~ King ~ Hampton ~ Riske ~ Glatch ~ Brengle ~ Rogers ~ Stephens ~ Boserup ~ Davis ~ Keys ~ Lepchenko ~ Falconi ~ Chirico ~ Crawford ~ Gibbs ~ Pegula ~ Min ~ Townsend ~ Duval ~ Vickery ~ Bellis ~ Ahn
