Arrow Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

hey hey.

as you've noticed all player's forum have been put together in a new big Enter Player Forum, in order to avoid having too many sections visible on the main page.

it's the occasion to discuss active and inactive forum.

CrossCourt Rally suggested that Coco Vandewegue could have her own forum, having a very successful thread in this section at which she even participates sometimes.

Some other forums have been pretty inactive, like Jamea's one, Chanda's (for obvious reasons) for example.

So what do you think we should do and which forums you absolutely don't want to see deleted.

looking forward to reading all the ideas.

to new beginnings.

Lightbulb Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

Thanks for making this forum discussion thread New-York . I'll be anxious to see peoples thoughts on CoCo getting her own forum and some of the other players people want to see have their own forum.

For my part, CoCo has the most popular thread without a forum with over 1,000 thread responses and over 26,000 views. As New-York said above, CoCo occasionaly takes time to post in her thread .

I was also thinking we could have a Team USA Juniors Forum. I think this would be a good way to keep track of all the upcoming US JR players. We could maybe have sub forums/threads within the forum on the most popular jr players with their results on the Jr tour aswell as the itf/wta tours.

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

I'm for it (CoCo having a forum) but I love CCR's idea of a Junior Forum too.

As for the inactive forums, I don't know. Someone like Lisa Raymond having a forum is pointless, because all it really contains is a cheering thread which hardly ever gets any posts. If that cheering thread was put in the main Team USA forum I think more people would post. I think some of the other player forums might be like that too.

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

I think a player should at least be a Top 150 professional before having their own player forum. I think it's good to keep people like Coco in the forum where she is so it's easy to see who the top/most popular emerging players are...but let's let these players earn their way into their own pro forum.

as much as i'd like to, we could wait for a long long time.

the idea of a junior forum is pretty good, but we wouldn't have subforums in it.

we want to avoid having too many forums.

we could stick Coco's thread in the junior forum.
i don't know, Coco's case is special because she actually posts here and we are obviously glad to have a pro here.

it's better to have a dynamic thread than a dead forum.

oh, and i agree with what hammehead says.

what about Jamea's and Lisa's forum. (???)
Lisa's pretty inactive, i won't be against reducing into a thread, but it's arguable, she's a pretty established player.

anyway, keep looking and thinking about all that, please.

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

I would be interested in a coco forum as I am interested in following her to see where she goes in the next 12 months. If she has a successful thread why not make it a forum.

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

I support the Coco forum. Also, a juniors forum would be great, as player threads, rankings, and tournament threads could be included there
Maybe an Alexa Glatch sub-forum
-I think that the Jackson, Rubin, Perry, etc. forums should stay. Jackson and Perry are still active. If you get rid of their forums, then all of the threads would be moved to a crowded area. To me, I would say a Craybas sub-forum, but she's 34, so that seems quite unrealistic.

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

I say yes to the Coco forum, and I feel Jackson and Vania should lose their forums since they really have no action in there, about 10 threads top in Vania's while they could just have a thread in the lower section of Team USA. They would get the same about of posts in 1 thread than they did with the whole forum.
Lisa and Meghann deserve a forum based on their results IMO, but Lisa could lose hers since there isn't much posting in there.

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

Rubin's forum won't stay as it just can't be active anymore as Chanda's m.i.a.
unfortunately.

Jamea needs to comeback first, i think a thread would be enough.

Vania's results aren't stellar but she's playing regularly.
Meghann is coming back.

what about Harkleroad ?

Re: Team USA Player Forums Discussion.

I agree with a junior sub-forum. The junior threads around here in general are pretty active, not just Coco's. I don't completely like the idea of Coco having her own sub-forum yet anyways.

Coco Forum

I’d like to take Roddick’s serve, Gonzales’s forehand… As well as Federer’s backhand and mental. Then I’d be world number 1, easy! No one could beat me.

Craybas isn't retiring tommorow and is more active than Perry & Jackson combined.

nobody absolutely wants to keep a forum which isn't Davenport's or the Williams'. right ???

i'll ask for a junior forum as almost everybody seems to agree with that.

i still don't about Coco's forum though, that could be unfair to other juniors whose threads as very active as well.

i mean, it's great that she posts here but i'm not sure that it will be allowed as even some top 100 players wouldn't automatically get their own forum.
